I downloaded the hd trailer last night and as Reaper will agree I used to hate the GTA games, until I played San Andrea's, now that IV is due out in Oct I thought as we had a thread for 3, why not for 4 You can see the trailer here www.break.com/index/grand_theft_auto_4_trailer.html

Because they are Unoriginal. If I remember correctly. GTA 1 had all 3 of these cities (Liberty, Vice, and San Andreas...maybe not Vice, but at least Liberty and SA)... why not take it to the UK like they did a long time ago. Or better still, Japan would have been sweet.. or how about Russia? Paris could work.. A few places in Germany... Italy...
Anything different at this point would be welcome.

Any totalitarian government run country (dictator ran) would definitely be much more interesting than the US ... Vice City was a theme step in the right direction, but after awhile it got you in a color frenzy.
Take it to Cuba, Liberia, or even Iraq.. that would be something I'd be interested to see.

I would like a European GTA

To be honest, me too.. that stupid GTA: London 1969 for the original playstation (that was basically just an expansion to the original GTA) just didn't quite cut it. They should do another one in London with the technology thats available now. That would be a pretty sweet ass game.

hopefully 5 will be a european one, or at least out of the US as they have done pretty much all the "famous" places there

huh?
If they did go back to London I doubt it would be a whole new game - but a remake, in itself would be pretty awesome. I think everyone can agree they're getting tired of the same old thugs and reasonably same missions... Although, this wouldn't necessarily help it, it would be different and that's all ya can ask

taken from wiki pedia
Plot
Niko Bellic is an Eastern European immigrant in his mid-thirties, who has come to Liberty City to pursue the "American Dream". Niko was persuaded to move to Liberty City by his cousin Roman, who claimed in e-mails to Niko that he had two women, four hot tubs and fifteen sports cars; but he was telling a lie to hide his own failures. At the beginning of the game, Niko arrives in Liberty City by boat.
Roman is the only person Niko knows in Liberty City to begin with, and is one of his major connections in the first part of the game. Niko is a tough character, whereas Roman is friendly. Roman is heavily in debt and a lot of people are after him - he needs Niko's support, hence the reason he deceived Niko into traveling to Liberty City. They are constantly bickering. It is later revealed that Niko has also been avoiding other, as yet undisclosed, problems at home.
According to Dan Houser, "Virtually none" of the characters from the previous games are returning, as a lot of them are dead anyway.
Locations
Rockstar has recreated four of the five boroughs in New York, as well as part of New Jersey. Broker is the GTA IV equivalent of Brooklyn, Manhattan is now called Algonquin, Queens is now Dukes, the Bronx is Bohan, and New Jersey is Alderney (after the Channel Island of the same name). The map is smaller than Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, but more detailed. It has also been mentioned that bridges are going to limit players to access other boroughs when first starting the game.
The GTA IV equivalent of the Statue of Liberty is called the "Statue of Happiness", and DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) is known as "BOABO" (Beneath the Offramp of the Algoquin Bridge Overpass).
A Staten Island-esque area will not be featured in the game for the reason that Rockstar believes it won't be fun to play there and Dan Houser also states that that there won't be any "dead spots" or "irrelevant space" within Liberty City.
Pedestrians are a lot more intelligent, realistic and diverse, using mobile phones, cash machines, eating snacks, reading newspapers and interacting with each other through laughter and threatening remarks. Pedestrians and traffic flow will also be different depending on the time of day.

I am creaming my pants. On a daily basis actually. But I don't have one of these fancy next gen consoles yet. So I don't want to get myself all worked up. I want a PS3, but I'm not a millionaire. And don't suggest a 360.
One day. A little man can dream.

and what is wrong with a 360 please? get one of those and you can play COD3 online with me, Reaper, Simz, Keith, and JT. . . . well maybe not JT but you get the picture, plus it would be funny listening to reaper trying to understand your glaswegian accent

Cactus has a point.. 360 is basically coming out with all of the major PS3 games as well as their own stricktly 360 games. Halo 3, COD3, Assassins Creed, Grand Theft Auto IV, Virtua Fighter 5, Guitar Hero, Resident Evil 5, Devil May Cry 4 (not too sure on that one) -- Will all be on 360 if not already. Plus it's alot cheaper, the only thing you need to worry about is Live Pricing..
I forgot I haven't listed my Gamer Card or name out yet.. Anyways, it's Zab3l. I usually play SvR, Guitar Hero, or DOA4, but you could possibly catch me on CoD3..

Heh! Would be funny confuddling Reaper with my glorious accent!
I don't know. I really want the new GTA game. I'll look into the prices for a 360. Who knows? I may be tempted to turn my back on PlayStation.

The prices for the 360 are much better than the prices for the PS3. EVEN the new 360 Elite.
Amazon.com.uk has the PS3 (60gb premium version) for £399.99
and the Xbox Pro set up (which includes a 20 GB harddrive, a headset, HDTV Cables, a wireless controller, and the ethernet chord) for £269.99

Looks like we'll all be waiting until next year for this game after all... oh well, I just hope they push the systems to the limit with this game because the amount of time they are taking, they should be able to make this almost perfect.... xbox360.ign.com/articles/810/810239p1.html
