That's why I have such a problem with the WWE over women. The WWE is a sexiest company, and the fact how they fire the winner of the diva search every year prooves that the WWE has little respect for women, and for women wrestling. Sadly the only good match I can recall was the match between Lita and Trish in 2004, and that was during the time when the women's league was already gutted. As for attractive women wrestlers I found the likes of divas like Gail Kim and Ivory to be very attractive, but the WWE got rid of them. It really is a full on fact that the WWE is sexiest and uses women as objects, not as individuals.
First of all, we have to fix that record!
First of all, they still have Ashley who is actually learning to wrestle. Christy was fired because she wasnt getting over with the fans at all, and in the year she was there she didnt pick up on the wrestling aspect. I mean, her match against Trish at Mania 21 tells the story. I do not blame WWE for letting her go. Even Candice Michelle & Torrie Wilson have picked up "decent" wrestling skills, or enough to try and get by if you dont like "decent", but Christy was just plain awful.
Also, if the WWE had little respect for women wrestling, they would've let it go by now. You know how everyone cringes when a women's match is about to start that doenst include Trish, Lita, Victoria, or Mickie? Or maybe how everyone is silent during the matches? Maybe that's a reason WWE doenst have much respect for it, if they do.
As for Gail Kim and Ivory . . . Ivory was one of the longest running divas for the company. And, you keep talking about how the WWE Divas are used as objects, but I do believe that Ivory was used as a host for Heat & the PPV Pre-shows for a good while. As for Gail Kim, I honestly dont know why she was let go, I'm sure they had their reasons, but I thought she was doing very well.
Basically, you talk one minute about how Vince is a genius, then you start talking about how they are sexist. Ever heard the motto "Sex Sells"? That's not just a line someone threw at you, it's actually true. Vince is smart for adding fuel to that. Did you know that the Diva Search was the highest rated part of Smackdown last week?
As for WWE's lack of respect, sink your teeth into this.
---Sable was given a storyline that hyped her up, and then had the highlight thrusted on her and made her one of the biggest things the WWE had going at the moment. Not because they "have no respect for women".
---Chyna. Chyna was given the Interncontinental Title for crying out loud! She was put over a lot of men during matches. But, the WWE is sexist and they "have no respect for women. Yeah, you're right, I'm sorry.
---Sunny managed numerous Tag Team Champions, and she was even dubbed the best wrestling manager during that time. But you're right, the WWE "have no respect for women".
---Trish was giving numerous storylines that you may look at as exploitation, like when she was made to strip, oh usually in her underwear somehow. But, those little things eventually turned around on Vince (like when Trish screwed Vince at Mania when Linda was in a wheelchair), and it turned out empowering Trish. She was given great storylines and the fans ate up the eye candy and fell in love with her, and because of that, the WWE eventually put the focus on her, threw her in the ring and even showed faith in her by giving her the title before she was ready to have it. Now, shes' an outstanding female wrestler, maybe the best ever. But, you're right, they have " no respect for women".
---Molly Holly. She's proof that if a female does not want to wear revealing clothing, she does not have to. They even gave her the title.
--- Stacy Keibler. They told her she didnt have to get implants if she didnt want to. That doenst sound sexist to me, and actually sounds "respectful" of her decision.
Also, a big thing you need to think about is this. Don't think for a minute that the WWE forced these girls to do anything they dont want to do, and don't you think for a minute that these girls woudnt do it to get ahead in the company. Maybe the WWE mentioned that it might help them out, but it was up to them. You'd strip to if it would make you a millionaire. And, while you look at it as exploitation, you should also remember that the WWE are trying to get their stars over with the company, thus making said woman a success, thus making her richer. Hmmm . . . almost sounds like they're trying to help them a bit as well. Those sexists!
yeah, that was long, sorry. You just seem to say things without thinking. Just trying to bring you around. It's kind of useless by now, I guess.
