This is a very complicated topic. I have said many times, that I am an athiest, but with recent events, I have come to believe in faith healing. I'll get to that in a moment. But considering that faith healing is all about people who have been given special healing powers through their strong faith and devotion to their God, it kind of throws my whole religious (non) beliefs in the air.
Let me start from the beginning, as I'm rambling. For an athiest, this stuff is difficult to explain. Basically, a frien of the family was involved in a car accident a few years ago, losing all the power in one of his arms. Well, next month, he was scheduled to have the arm amputated, as it was thought there was no use for it anymore. This guy went to a faith healing meeting with some friends, basically out of curiosity. It was pretty obvious that he had no use of his arm, as it always hung lifelessly by his side, with the hand in his pocket. The faith healer, before the meeting began, approached him and asked to see him after she was finished. Curiosuly, he agreed.
After the show, he remained behind. The woman spoke to him about how, as soon as she saw him, she saw a mental image of him in her head, waving both hands. Now, this was something he hadn't been able to do since the car accident several years before. intrigued, he continued to listen. The woman then preformed some ritual type thing with him. Whatever it is they do, I don't know, but she did it to him.
Surely and, knowing first hand what he used to be like and taking the word of people I trust who have seen him lately, this man has slowly regained the power from his shoulder to his wrist in about 3 weeks. It is thought that, within the next two weeks, he will be able to move his fingers. That's pretty extraordinary, considering he was due to have the arm amputated next month. The decision to amputate the arm was made a while before the faith healing event.
Read into that what you will, but take my word for it. The guy had absolutely no feeling in his arm for years, then, suddenly, after a faith healing excersise, he is now able to move his whole arm, with the exception of his hand. Coincidence? Absolutely no chance.
What are your thoughts on this?
