I speak spanish, and they tell you in School/escuela that it's important cause the spanish speakign people are growing in numbers. But, I do think they should attemt to learn the language if they are going to live here. I mean, if you go to Russia, would you expect everyone to try and speak English to you? i have started to learn russian, its a crazy language

first point Eco, by calling fat upper class people bigoted, guess what thats discrimination Secondly we ( uk and usa ) for a majority are arrogant, the reason i say this is we expect everyone to speak our language yet for themost part refuse to learn another, i know this is a generalisation but you know what i mean

HOWEVER, as always, I do have to point out your stereotypes, Eco. Please, try to refrain from talking about how it sickens you how people stereotype other individuals right after you accuse those "fat ass, upper class, white bigots" of categorizing the Mexicans/Spanish speaking people. I hate to tell you this, buddy, it's not just the upper-class that does it, but you throw your argument out the window again and begin to stereotype the "upper-class". You're absolutely right. It was kind of ignorant of me to say that. From my view, I actually think that most biggots are of lower class. I probably should take your advice and be more careful about my posts. To get to your point about them being "criminals" well me and my girl know somebody that fits the mold, illegal, and a thief. So THATS where that particular streretype comes from. Not some "fat, white, racist asshole" Like you want, but because there are a fair amount of them out there to produce said stereotype. Dude get off your high horse already. You've already complained about the whole of the nation being racist, now its uppity, fat, white people... Kinda tells me that YOU are the racist one, just covering it up by shooting the bullet elsewhere. Good job. I am aware that many illegal immigrants cause a large amount of crime in the US. Hell, my car got vandalized 10 months ago by people who were suspected to be illegals. That wasn't the only thing I experienced either. However, this doesn't count for ALL immigrants, illegal or not. This is where tolerance comes in. As for me being racist against fat people, ok whatever. I don't know if you know this or not, but you need to be racist against a RACE, that's why they call it race-ism. I don't have anything against overwieght people either. I just typed it because that was just my personality speaking. However, I do know enough overweight people to say that some of them are that way for a reason, and these same people also live in their own dillusional world, and tend to think more in a irrational fashion. I don't mean to change the topic here, but I just thought this is worth talking about. Here is the article: "KANSAS CITY, Mo.(AP) A man spit tobacco juice into the face of Jane Fonda after waiting in line to have her sign her new memoir. Capt. Rich Lockhart of the Kansas City Police Department said Michael A. Smith, 54, was arrested Tuesday night on a municipal charge of disorderly conduct.
He was released on bond and is due to appear in court on May 27.
Fonda covers a wide range of topics in "My Life So Far," including her 1972 visit to Hanoi to protest the Vietnam War, during which she was photographed on a North Vietnamese anti-aircraft gun. She has apologized for the photo, but not for opposing the war.
Smith, a Vietnam veteran, told The Kansas City Star Wednesday that Fonda was a "traitor" and that her protests against the Vietnam War were unforgivable. He said he doesn't chew tobacco but did so Tuesday solely to spit juice on the actress.
"I consider it a debt of honor," he told The Star for a story on its Web site. "She spit in our faces for 37 years. It was absolutely worth it. There are a lot of veterans who would love to do what I did."
Fonda, who flew to Minneapolis Wednesday for another appearance on her book tour, issued a statement through Jynne Martin of Random House.
"In spite of the incident, my experience in Kansas City was wonderful and I thank all the warm and supportive people, including so many veterans, who came to welcome me last night," she said.
Fonda drew a crowd of about 900 at Unity Temple, said Vivian Jennings, whose Rainy Day Books of suburban Fairway, Kan., sponsored the event.
Jennings said the 67-year-old actress never got up from her seat and continued autographing books after the tobacco juice was wiped off.
"The important thing is that she was so calm and so gracious about it," Jennings said. "She was wonderful.""
I find this very disgusting. To me the two most biggest assholes on this planet are people to get violent with women, and people who think they have a right to "punish" someone for expressing themselves. This ass-muppet seems to be these two types rolled into one. Rubbing some patriotic bullshit into someone's face is one thing, but to get all violent to a women of all, and not only that, but a famous artist is a total disgrace to society, and is doing nothing more than wasting precious space in society.

Spittiing on someone is a disgusting act. He could have just yelled at her but I guess he got his point across. All I can think of is, from the movie Gremlins, when the new Mogwais are born and mini Stripe spits a disgusting brown loogie at Gizmo.

He felt it was worth it, hence he went prepared ( he does not chew tobacco but was that day ) whilst I think it is disgusting to spit at some one he felt he had to, and I appauld the fact he stands by his convictions. ( he felt by protesting the war she had spat in his face )

You all know how there are prison abuse scandals in Iraq? Well I've been hearing how Saddam Hussin himself has been experiencing harsh humiliation. On the front cover on English magazines, Hussin was shown only in his underwear. Other photos were also exploited to the public that were meant to humilate Saddam. Other photos were taken of his regime members, also being exploited and humilated. The pentagon, claims that this is violation of their policy, and they will start an investigation.
I personally find this sick, because I find no entertaining point in exploiting a former evil leader in his underwear. I really don't know how it could be funny or entertaining. I am no fan of his regime, but there really is no point in exposing Saddam like that to the world, or even the Iraqi people.

I'll be honest, when I saw the pic, I laughed.
But, I think it was wrong to purposely humiliate him, regardless of what he has done. He was caught, he will be punished (trial pending) for what he has done, let that be it, no need to shoot your prisoner

To tell you the truth I could care less what they do to that scumbag. He did unexciseable acts and tortured millions. While I don't want to see that asshole in his underwear I hope he gets every last thing coming to him.

I think he's lucky to even be alive and able to be humiliated. They should have just shot him and ended it right there.

I dont agree with Reaper. Shooting him dead when he was found is too good for him. He deserves all the humiliation and pain we can throw at him. I know some of you would say that makes us as bad as him, but its not. We would make him go through pain and torture, the kind he dealt out as a punishment for his crimes, not as a matter of course for 1000's of innocent people
I dont think seeing him in his underwear is enough. I do think though that the picture ought to be scattered all across Iraq, so the people who are still terrified of the man can see him for the pathetic specimen he really is.

They should have just shot him and ended it right there. They should have shot him after the first Gulf War...but they didn't.

Here is something that is more Florida-wise. Recently there has been a large number of shark attacks on the coasts of Florida. This being summer-time and all, the beaches are a popular place to go to and, the wildlife in Florida is more active. The culprit shark here, is the Bull Shark. The third most dangerous shark in the world, and probably one of the most under-feared shark.
I can't get to the link atm, but here is a brief discription of what just happened: A 14 year old girl died after being attacked by an 8 foot bull shark. The attack was so burtal that only the bones remained on her lower left leg. Not only that, but when people were trying to pull her out of the water in a raft the shark continued to follow them, and even went after the people that were helping the raft make it to shore, the girl croaked before she made it to the hospital.
Not only it is rare for a shark to attack a human being, but it's VERY rare for a shark to repeatly go after the human, and let alone attack other humans. Bull sharks don't get much reconition as they should. They attack as much people as a great white or a tiger shark. A while ago, I use to SCUBA dive regulary, and bull sharks were the sharks to stay away from. Infact I had a friend that nearly got attacked by a bull shark. Tiger Sharks we didn't have to worry about because of how they aren't that common in Florida, but bull sharks are common in Florida's beaches and even brackish/freshwater.
