Well, my warranty for this Dell expires October 12th and I still have to get my DVD drive replaced.
So, I called Dell and they walked me through a few steps to recover the drive. Nothing worked. So, they set up a case number and dispatch number for the problem. I thought, for sure, I was going to have to pack this sumbitch up and be without a PC for a bit. This wouldn't be good since we are currently in a busy P2PW period.
However, Dell is super cool. They are sending me a DVD Drive.
I asked: "Ok, so all I'll need to do is install the drive on my own?"
Phone Tech: "No. We'll be sending the DVD drive to your home along with a technitian."
I had this problem with Gateway last year. I had to send it out. However, Dell's support is killer. They bounce right to your house and fix your PC right where it lies. I am definately extending my warranty incase something like this were to happen again.
Go Team Dell!

So, I got a call from the Dell tech that I talked to last night. He asked if the person that would be installing my DVD Drive called yet. I said no. He said I shouldn't be worried because he'll call before the weekend. Then he asked me how my day went. Ha! Go DellGeeks!
Then, I ripped on his accent. And he ripped on mine.

I bet they send that stoner kid who used to be in the commercials, then he was fired for actually smoking weed. That would be pretty sick. "Here's your DVD drive man and some weed from Dell."

Dell > MSN
Plain as day.

considering MSN is an internet service, and a crappy one at that.
And Dell is a Computer Company . . . and a good one at that.
Yeah, I guess you're right, as illogical as comparing the two was, Dell > MSN

15 minutes to replace the drive, test the drive, and close the door. Good stuff.
