REVENGE OF THE SITH The title of the next Star Wars movie has been revealed at an international conference of enthusiasts.
The film is called Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and is due for release on May 19, 2005
The title was revealed top a packed audience at Comic-Con International in San Deigo, California.
Steve Sansweet, head of fan relations for Lucasfilm, told the fans: "For some time now, the naming of a new Star Wars movie has taken on some special meaning among core fans."
He said they love to take part in guessing games before a title is announced, and then engage in debate once it is. "Let the debate begin," he added.
The Sith are an ancient order of Force practitioners devoted to the dark side and sworn enemies of the Jedi.
They operate quietly in pairs - a Master and an Apprentice - patiently biding their time before they can take over the galaxy.
In Episode III, they will finally take their revenge on the Jedi.
It will show how Luke Skywalker's father, Anakin (Hayden Christensen), became the villainous Darth Vader.

IMO
all it needed was the one film, this one
it would include all we need to know
1) The birth of the twins, Luke and Leia
2) The conversion from Anakin Skywalker to Darth Vader.
3) The exile of Yoda, and the disbanding of the Jedi Council
4) Palpatine revealing himself as Darth Sidious
That would cover a two hour, two and a half hour movie, i think

right.
the main fault of all star wars fans was that when phantom menace was released it was hyped by all and sundry (myself, included) to be the holy grail of our cinematic world. this was the film we had waited since childhood through to adulthood for. and when the credits finished rolling, we got home from the cinema and realised "that wasn't as good as i'd thought it would be." it never was going to be. mac's right in the fact that episode 3 is the one that we've all been after but episode 1 and 2's whole purpose was to set the scene and i think they've done that well. we all know what happens more or less in episode 3, the question was how did it get there? and i think so far it's been handled well. true, episode 1's only purpose was to give up a few secrets and the rest was pure filler. episode 2 put a bit more meat on the bones and episode 3 is going to finish it off. i'm not going to judge lucas on episode 1 and 2 because it's unfair. but if he buggers up episode 3, i think as a movie maker he'll be finished and that's the one i'm gonna judge him on.

Looks like Nation classic beat me too it, I enjoyed the episodes 1 & 2 as they provided the framework for leading us up to 3 which should then make sense for a new hope, if not I will be severly pissed
