As most of you know, I've been a musician for over 10 years now. I've toured much of New England with some old school bands such as: Triumph, Blue Oyster Cult, and Great White. Well, within the last 5 years, I've stopped touring and basically sit in my home studio all day. Each week I'll post a new song for you guys to listen to. Check out the following link to listen to one of my latest songs: 12daze.tripod.com/music/

I see you're quite talented there Shinn. A homie of mine around the way are shooting a documentary this summer in Philly and New Jersey about violence in schools and the effect it has on low-income youth. Maybe you can write one of the songs that will be on the soundtrack.

All you gotta do is ask em if they need one. I'm cheap. Hell, I'm free (just want a free copy). Let me know what type of tune, and I'll get on it.

This is a repost from TWH: Played in bands from 1993 - 2000 1 - Oblideration (1993 - 1994) (Bass Player) 2 - Cresent Moon (1994 - 1995) (Drummer) 3 - Warp - (1995 - 1996) (Drummer/Leader Singer) 4 - Alien X - (1996 - 1997) (Guitarist/Drummer/Bassist/Singer) 5 - A Tribute to Rush (1997) (Drummer) 6 - Alien X - (1997 - 1999) (Bassist/Guitarist/Singer) 7 - Clockwork Orange (1999 - 2000) (Guitarist/Lead Singer) *For the bands I've played multiple intrustaments, we use to switch around each set.CDs I've released, or have been a part of:Warp - Pure GeniousRecorded in Bethlehem, NH. Produced by Steve Galepo (a student of producers who produced 2 Kiss albums)Alien X - Self TitledSelf produced.Alien X - The Return of Alien XProduced by Dave PareAlien X - More From Out ThereSelf produced.Coldfire - A Tribute to Rush - "A Night with Rik Emmett"A live soundboard recording opening up for Triumph's former guitar player, Rik Emmett.12 Daze - Alone 12 Daze - The 12 Chapter of Away "An Acoustic Collection Volume I" 12 Daze - This Dark State 12 Daze - No Man's Field "Phase One" 12 Daze - Bring the New "An Acoustic Collection Volume II."12 Daze is my solo project. I currently own a home studio. Wrote and played all music found on all the 12 Daze CDs: Acoustic Guitars/Acoustic Bass/Electric Bass/Electric Guitars/Drums/Keyboards/Harmonic/VocalsAlong the Way[/u] Along the way I was given the the chance to open for many semi-major bands. A tribute to Rush opened for Rik Emmett, who use to be in the 80s band Triumph, was probably one of my favorite. In the 80s, he was voted in the top 10 best guitar players of the time. We were broadcasted live on the radio (whiched aired in Vermont, New York, Mass, PA...). Alien X opened for the 80s band Great White. Those guys are clowns. My guitar player had them over his apartment. He did their laundry. Went fishing, out to eat...etc... Shared a beer with Jack Russel. Alien X also opened for Blue Oyster Cult. This was interesting. It was at a festival. We were the 2nd to last band. Meeting them was ok (I was really never a fan). However, the drummer for them that night use to play for Black Sabbath. I thought that was cool, until he caught me hitting on his wife. Then we had some words. I called the former Black Sabbath drummer a froot. I got the last line in! Chaulk one up for Shinn's Theory. Alien X was given the opportunity to do a 2 month tour supporting Candlebox (one of my favorites)... But, I was in college at the time and turned the offer down. Doh! Anyway, I've toured New England (Which is in the United States) for numerous years and thru in the towel in 2000. Now, I spend all my time recording original music here at home. Some of you may already have some 12 Daze CDs sitting at home. Thanks for that! I've sold many of the 12 Daze CDs.. 4 digits worth. The Alien X CDs sold well. Other than that... most of the money I made was made from the road (which isn't all it's cracked up to be). Below is a picture taken during our opening show for Blue Oyster Cult. Still can't get over that it was over 6-7 years ago.

I see. You must do your fair share of drugs and booze then.

Layin' off the drugs, mostly. Pills don't count, in my book. As for alcohol - oooops ^ 2 years ago ^ 1 year ago.

You're right man; if you and I teamed up there would be a shortage of alcohol on this planet. Good shit.

I've have "This Dark State" and "Bring The New" and both are amazing.
As I've told you before, "Fray Another Thread" is my favorite song I've heard out of those 2 albums. Good stuff Mizz

That's why I mentioned it I'm wondering what your nose is picking up that smells so bad in the drum pic.

The smell of Blue Oyster Cult's drummer's drum set (which is right behind me in the pic)..... It smells like, The Reaper, burning for you.
EDIT: You didn't get it.
2 BOC songs - Don't Fear the Reaper & Burning for You.

I "don't fear the Reaper", unless we're talking about Soul Reaper, I am afraid of him. That's why I have my Colon-Protector 3000 . . . . protection
Speaking of Blue Oyster Cult, My cousin's Grandma just found out 2 weeks ago that the song was not called "Don't Fear The Reefer". We let the song end before we told her, just cause it was funny as Hell hearing her sing it
EDIT: I actually did get that

you need to make a cover album with a twist, that song included. I can see the album lineup:
1. Loraine ("No Rain") 2. Don't Fear The Reefer ("Dont Fear The Reaper") 3. Lovin a Male Dictator ("Love In An Elevator") 4. I Want A Hung Black Man ("I Want To Hold You Hand") 5. Jesus's Celulite ("Jesus Is Just Alright") 6. I Breathe In, I Get High ("I Believe I can Fly") 7. Afraid to give me Head ("Fray Another Thread") 8. High Man Amos ("Hi, My Name Is . . .") 9. Fruit Rolls ("Good Souls" --- I turn to you and I say, "thank goodness for the Fruit Rolls, that make life better." HA!) 10. Where My Shinns Gives Me Brain ("Where The Streets Have No Name")

Wow....you put a lot of thought into that. I think I saw a Beatles reference. If it wasn't for that, I would have done it. Beatles blow goats.....and other Beatles.
Fruit Rolls, I WILL do.
EDIT: I will seriously start working on it tomorrow.

Good Souls is a fairly easy song to do, so I expect it to be done quickly.
I didn't put a lot of thought into that, it literally took me 5 minutes to think up and write down. The Beatles reference was simply so you'd have a variety, you may replace it with
Another Brick to the Skull ("The Wall" / Another Brick in the Wall)

People tell me I sound a lot like Pink Floyd. Probably because of the "No Man's Field" album.
I'll hook you up with Froot Rolls though.
EDIT: Maybe (if it fits) I'll put the whole "No Man's Field -Phase One" Album on that site next week. It's one song, cut into 7 parts....it's about 30 minutes long.

You are really good for someone I have never heard of. You should have a record deal with Epic or something.
