There are new CD's being released by the recording industry that will jack your computer. The new CDs have a self-installing virus which apparently will work on a Mac or a PC. You don't even have to rip the music into WAV or MP3 for the program to install itself and jack your drive. Don't worry about your older CDs, but beware the new CDs that are being released. I don't know if the whole recording industry is doing this or just specific labels/companies (such as Sony). C-Net article[/u] www.cnet.com/4520-6033_1-6376177.html?tag=nl.e501

I don't know how that works? Do you have to toss it into your PC?

well you can put your cd's in and i-tunes converts it to mp3 and puts it on your i-pod, so that will mean that it could possibly f*ck up your pc just for buying a i-pod!

Actually, ITunes converts CD files to MP4A format so that they can only play on the Itunes/Quicktime players.

it says that just playing it will download the root-kit.
That's pretty fucked up. Not that I buy cd's anyway, but if I ever do, Sony will not be wrote on them anywhere

I'll buy CDs, if I am a hardcore fan. Like, Fiona's new one, which is Sony. Lucky for me, I never play CDs on my PC. However, I may burn one for a friend. That would cause the root kit to install itself. But, I also have an audio burner. It only allows you to burn an official release ONCE. But, after buring it...I wonder if putting the burnt CD into my PC to burn it for another will have the same effect. Hmmmmm...
