Bill Russel, the white guy with the red hair and the headband...
Or is that someone else I'm thinking of?

Bill Russel is a brotha. Why do I have a bad feeling about the NBA Finals tonight? If Miami wins the Finals tonight, Shaq should send a personal thanks to Kobe on national TV.

And Dwyane Wade is just awesome.
Funny how he was drafted third overall behing King James and 'Melo Anthony.
Then again, Jordan was drafted third and guess what happened....

No, Wade was drafted 5th, Chris Bosh went 4th & 'Melo went 3rd, Darko Milicic (what a bust, could you imagine if the Pistons woulda picked Melo?) was 2nd. And of course King kid went 1st.

Well, congrats to Miami, and to Dallas we can only say as of the first practice next year, we're all undefeated again.

This has been, by far, the best series of playoff games I've ever seen.

Heh, a funny story Ninny told me:
One of our friends recently broke his jaw. He had just come out of surgery and was doped out of his skull, and Ninny was there. Just as he's coming out of his drug stupor, the Mavs lose the championship, which just happened to be on at the time.
I went to see him the next day, and he couldn't even eat jello cause it hurt so much.
Then I went and got some krispy kreme donuts.
Damn good day that was.
Oh yeah, fuck florida and all that noise.

And the Chicago Bulls are about to officially sign Ben Wallace to a $60 million dollar deal. Now if the rumors are true and Kevin Garnett also jumps on board, I'd say that is the final piece of the championship puzzle they have been looking for is locked.

Nah, they need Michael Jordan for even a decent playoff run.

Crazy how all the hype surrounding the A.I. trade is slowly fading and becoming yesterday's news. The Denver Nuggets (+Melo and A.I.) were deliberately handled by the mediocre Utah Jazz last night, who were down 16 points at one point. I like the combo of Allen and Melo as much as anyone but I think they'll need another year or so to really gel. In other NBA news, Gilbert Arenas and Chris Bosh making the starting lineup for the Eastern All Stars may be a sign that the powers are shifting in the Eastern Conference. Detroit, New Jersey and Miami once dominated but now it seems as if the Wizards and the Raptors are finally ready to make some noise after long droughts.

I think that either the Suns or Mavs have the best shot. The Suns because Steve Nash is having not only an MVP, but the best season of his career and because Amare Staudomire back. And the Mavs are a favorite because they've got the experience, they're hungry and they're deserving. Dirk Nowitski is an all-star. I'd love to see these two teams in the West finals.

NBA All-Star weekend is upon us and this year has been rather suprising. Initially, 'Melo was dissed, most likely due to the Madison-Square Garden brawl that has pretty much marred his image for life, like Ron Artest. But an injury here and an injury there and low and behold, he's in. It's ironic just how many Western stars will sit out due to nagging injuries. The list includes reigning MVP Steve Nash, top vote-getter Yao Ming, and the fastest guard in the league, Allen Iverson. Ironic.

Since that former Magic player came out of the closet (don't remember his name), it sort of makes you wonder who else is in the closet.

I don't want to know. And besides, when they said "a former NBA player was about to come out", I thought for sure it was another Dennis Rodman publicity stunt. Instead, I learned John Amaechi was a flaming homo all along.

According to J-A, he didn't come out when he was playing because he thought it would be harmful to his career and to all British basketball players in general. Plus he had a book coming out, so it's possible that it was publicity. Who knows.

And now we have the spectacle that is Tim Hardaway. Wednesday during a interview on a miami radio, he proclaimed for the whole world to hear, that he hated gay people. Then the NBA promptly distanced themselves far away from him. Tim was originally slated to be at the nba all star game this weekend, but the nba told him to even bother to show up.
Then today on Jim Rome is burning, they showed a clip where he apologized for what he said. And I have to agree with Jim on this one. He isn't sorry about what he said. That is what he believes. He is just sorry that now he is caught up in this controversy. Next thing you know, he will attend "sensitivity training" in hopes that the nba will allow him to represent them again down the road.

The NBA wants nothing to do with Hardaway. He is a washed up player who is past his prime and is on the way to the bottom. It's all right to feel a certain way about topics but sometimes it would be better if people kept certain things to themselves. Tim Hardaway is ignorant. He doesn't represent NBA players, black people, or the majority in general. Although, one bad apple can spoil a bunch.
