Well, you knew this was coming. These eight teams mentioned, I believe WILL make the playoffs, but you never know.
Right now, I'm pretty impressed with the Chicago Cubs. This point last year, they were arleady out of the running. Now, they could be a potential Wild Card. But who's really impressing me is Milwalkee. I didn't see them coming going into this season, I thought "Ugh, another season, another 182 games of the Cardinals being the New York Yankees of the National Leauge, staying in first the whole season and choking in the playoffs," but the Brew Crew is being fairly impressive. Still hate 'em for being ahead of the Cubbies, but what're you going to do? Meanwhile, on the other end of the spectrum, the St. Louis Cardinals, the reigning World Series chumps, are sucking like a black hole. Pujols and Edmonds have yet to find their game, and St. Louis should be hitting the panic button NOW.
And the New York Yankees, aka the Evil Empire, look like they are being upset by the rebel forces, better known as the Boston Red Sox. I think this could be and IS Joe Torre's last season in the Bronx if the pitching doesn't get any better, and I mean five minutes ago. 10 starting pitchers at this point in the season is ridiculous, and spending all that money on 44-year-old Roger Clemens, AND giving him all those perks to boot, just proves how desprate the Yanks are geetting. If money talks, it's shouting 'HELP ME' at the top of its lungs right now, and it's coming from the house that Ruth built.
