Ok, it's old school. I know this. But, I've got a few questions.
I just picked up Perfect Dark for N64. I dug Goldeneye and was told I would dig this game as well. However, it appears I need an expansion pack to play the majority of the game.
Here's the question(s). They may sound stupid, but I don't have an N64 manual.
1 - Are memory cards and expansion packs the same thing? If so, I tossed a memory card into my controller and the game didn't detect it. I tried a couple different controllers as well.
2 - The "Memory Expansion" compartment on the console itself already has something in it. It reads "Do not remove jumper pack from control deck". Does the jumper pack come installed in every system?
3 - Are there any expansion packs built to fit into the controller?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Alright Shinns, you have to go buy an expansion pak (off ebay, I know that's where you'll go)
It has a red top with holes in it.
Anyways, when you get it, remove the jumper pak, and put the expansion pak in it's place. I know it says no to remove it, but you basically disregard that.
It DOES NOT go in your controller.
Perfect Dark does own, but not more than Goldeneye.

I'm not sure what you're speaking of.

As Stare said Shinns. You'd think instead of "Do Not Remove" they would have put something like "Expansion Pack Here!"
Perferct Dark is better that Goldeneye in every way. Better graphics, better sound, more freedom to move, bigger, better levels, improved enemy A.I. but the all important thing that it's missing over Goldeneye is that one more go factor. As good as Perfect Dark is, I just couldn't tear myself away from Goldeneye.
The memory cards were a waste of time. Never could save my "WWF No Mercy" data. But that could have been due to the fact that the first shipments of the game were dodgy as hell. Fiends.

Dude, better graphics, but NOT better game. Goldeneye was THE multiplayer FPS* for N64. It was awesome. And if you have any questions about how to beat/do something in an N64 game Go Here, To GameFAQsJust pull down the "Console Select" tray on the right side of the screen and N64, then select your game. *FPS = First-Person Shooter

Oh I totally agree. Multi-player Goldeneye has yet to be topped in our house.
Is it me or was OO6 (Sean Bean) the best character in multiplayer?

I liked Oddjob. He was so short, nobody could hit him.

<-----Unbeatable at Goldeneye Multiplayer. As geeked out as this sounds, I won a Goldeneye Multiplayer tourney in 97. Anyway, I ordered the expansion pack. I'm sick of playing those Perfect Dark challenges. They are tit. I liked the fact that the Complex and Temple were used in them though. Anyone play the other Bond Game released? The World is Not Enough? I heard the multiplayer blows, but the missions are decent. *FPS = First-Person Shooter Already beaten. The game is easy, as long as you read each mission. Jaws is the only dude I had problems with at first.

The World is not Enough was E.A.s first attempt at the Bond franchise. It tried and tried to be better than Goldeneye but unfortunately it sucked a 15" AIDS infected cock (which is very bad according to JT Blade)

Nation, that was uncalled for. Normally people who accuse are hiding their own malfunctions.
Yeah, TWINE wasn't as good as Goldeneye.

This is true. The only malfunction though was that you told me while I was eating my lunch. I'm never eating sausages again!

Good for you.
I always thought the Banjo-Kazooie series was kinda underrated. A little wierd, but underrated.

Not a patch on Mario64 though. Diddy Kong Racing was far superior to both Banjo Kazooie and Mario Kart 64.
Best N64 games
1. Goldeneye 2. Mario64 3. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 4. Diddy Kong Racing 5. WWE No Mercy 6. Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 7. Perfect Dark 8. Lylat Wars 9. Super Smash Bros 10. Mario Tennis
My opinion anyway.

Banjo-Kazooie blew nut, in my opinion.
Zelda was pretty killer.

Nation's list has me in agreement. I'd replace Lylat Wars with Mario Party (the original). That game kicked all kinds of time-killing ass, and it had the single-player mode, which was hella-fun

All the Mario Parties were great.
Ain't no party like a Mario Party!

I dont think any of them held a candle to the first one. I never played 3 . . . and all the gamecube ones had enough replay value for me to say they're great.
Games like that have to have replay value, it's mandatory almost

The best player in goldeneye on the 64 in deathmatch mode was by far the helicopter pilot as his helmet let you survive a headshot with a magnum

I had the same problem brother. Just remove the thing already in the N64 and put the red topped thing in. I had to do it with Donkey Kong 64, but the red thingy came with it.
