Sorry, no. What you have to do is try to get into Don Cornero's mansion. The minimal is that you have to get the dress-maker's confidence back and get a wig. However, there are a number of other things you can get throughout the Sector 6 Slums (though you may/may not want to get if you're just trying to advance the storyline), including makeup, panties, perfume and a tiara. Anyhow, just get the dress and the wig, go back to the wigmaker's place to get the stuff on and go back to Cornero's mansion. That oughta do it.

Well I purposely run in circles in order to draw battles, kill my opponent, and make some money and load up on materia. I have yet to advance to Don's mansion, I believe that is the next stage. (Keep in mind that I am doing this without a book and your clues/pure luck are what I am counting on here.) But it might be to my advantage to load up on weapons and arm my team, as well as load up on money before advancing anywhere because I don't know what to expect from President Shinra.

Y'mean Rufus? Here's what you do. First off, take out the annoying dog-thing that Rufus fights with. It'll cast Barrier and MBarrier on him, which increase his defense and magic defense respectively. Rufus only has one attack: Shotgun. It does about 130 damage per attack and chances are good he'll get off two before you get one, but that just means he's charging your Limit Gauge faster. In the meantime, keep your HP high, because his damage can get a little out of control if left unchecked. And use Cross-Slash, when and if available, to Stop him for two turns, so you can get your HP back and hit him.
That's me, Useless JT. Everything you NEVER needed to know in playing a video game.

Okay, I did the little battle at the Indian hut and then headed East to the little historic town on the shore and rescued Priscilla (sp?)and the Dolphin. But now I am in a bit of a jam so once again, I am out in the field just going in circles, battling various monsters (mainly cobras) and making money. Could use a little help as to where to go next.....

So, lemme get this straight. You're outside either Juno or outside Costa Del Sol. Well, your next destination is in the mountains due north of Costa Del Sol. You'll need that money, too.

Not exactly.
I helped Priscilla and then the Dolphin jumped me up the tower and I went through. I found myself at this type of platform and I pushed the golden box and nothing happened. I thought the platform would lower, but nothing. I couldn't even get back to the previous screen. It was as if I were locked in, or something. So I just restarted from my last save point and I am wondering out loud what to do. Has this happened to you?

Not really. After you get up onto the base, head toward the guard barracks. They should be on the right. If I remember right, that's where you're supposed to go.
