I am all for the draft just to let everyone know. During the Vince v/s Flair times the roster was well balanced. However once the GM times came Raw became overbalanced. When top superstars from Smackdown! such as HHH and Jericho went to Raw, that show had more big names. Then came along Steiner, and Goldberg who were also on Raw. One year ago Raw had Goldberg, Nash, HHH, HBK, Orton, Flair, Batista, Stiener, RVD, Kane, Brooker T, The Rock and Stone Cold, while Smackdown! had Kurt Angle, Beniot, Eddie, Cena, Rey, Brock and Cena. Raw had a surplus of big names while Smackdown! had a surplus of emerging talent.
This to me was a mistake, mainly at the expense of Smackdown! The WWE put so much trust in the wrong individuals on Smackdown! Hulk Hogan left because he wasn't sadisfied with the WM19 payoff. Later on Brock left! well at least Smackdown! has Kurt Angle, but wait he was on an injury. So the WWE was desperate and they made a gamble giving Bradshaw a heel push and making him JBL. After WM20 Raw was just more perfered than Smackdown! Raw had entertaining gimmicks and fun storylines while Smackdown! had Kurt as a GM, and Rene Dupree bouncing around with a poodle. At first it seemed like a good idea to put so much interest into Brock and Kurt, but it totally backfired.
Superstars on Raw were also negatively affected by this. When Raw had a surplus of big names many superstars who were main eventers were pulled down to the mid card league. Jericho coming to Raw seriously hurt his career. Because of that he was always the pick of the litter. He always fueded with the leftover face who was a big name such as HBK on WM19, Goldberg at Bad Blood, and the fued with Nash during the elimination chamber times. Brooker T also suffered, Goldberg coming to Raw virtually screwed his career. Not only he lost his chance to become the world heavyweight champion at WM19 but also he was pulled into the mid card league.
I just think that it was a mistake to have both brands become unbalanced.
