If you are not a fan of Metal, you probably have still heard the name "Dimebag Darrell" and his old band Pantera. Dimebag was shot and killed while on stage during a show. www.nbc4i.com/news/3983630/detail.html

IMO the fucker who did it was a major anselmo fan, he read his interview about wanting Darrell dead, and cause he is mentally insane, he thought that if he killed darrell, phil would like love him

the "hardcore pantera fan" who killed dimebag darrel was allegedly heard shouting "what about phil?" before shooting dimebag. what the said "fan" seems to have missed is that it's phil anselmos's fault pantera split up because he had more interest in his side projects than pantera, his bread and butter. in a statement prior to the shooting, anselmo wished harm on dimebag but expressed regret that he could not perform the act as it would be against the law. soon after dimebag is shot dead. coincidence? who can say? all i will say is this, pantera were the band that gave metal a kick up the arse. vulgar display of power, to this day, still has the power to blow you away. and dimebag was one of the best metal guitarists you will ever hear. rest in peace dude. the world's a quieter place without you.

Dimebag was shot and killed while on stage during a show. www.nbc4i.com/news/3983630/detail.htmlYour answers in the first post, E2. I've been meaning to post on this thread for a while. It's such a tragedy that something like this could just happen. Dimebag was an innovator of guitar playing for the metal genre and he will be sorely missed by all his fans, whether it be for his work Pantera or Damageplan or just the nice guy I've been told he was. It's a shame that no one will also ever know the true motive behind the murder. It is clear that Nathan Gale was a troubled individual. I'm afraid that any link to Gale and Phil Anselmo shall forever be speculation. I do think however that it is highly suspicious that Anselmo could say the things he did, and a week later Dimebag is killed. I also think this is further need for American gun laws to be reviewed. As a Brit, I can speak for only for myself and for others who share this view, but gun crimes in American seem so rife in comparison to the UK and to have something like this happen is clear-cut proof that tighter restriction need to be enforced.

God damn, hard to believe it's almost been two years. It feels like it just happened yesterday. I was just watching Behind The Music: Pantera and just got that feeling. I swear, Dime was taken WAY too soon. There's so many questions I'm thinking of relating to the murder: was there some connection between this and John Lennon's murder (Dime was murdered on the 24th anniversary of Lennon's murder), did Phil Anselmo really know Dime was killed after the murder (because of some comments he made, saying Dime "deserved to be beaten severely", though he says it was taken out of context) and was Dime's slayer busted up over Pantera's breakup or was he just fuckin' crazy?
Either way, Dime is up in Heaven right now, rockin' with Hendrix and Janis Joplin and slammin' Black Tooth Grins with God.

Either way, Dime is up in Heaven right now I sincerely doubt it. Well, believe what you wanna believe, Spac. This is directly from Vinnie Paul Abbot (Pantera drummer and Dime's brother): "It just seems like something out of a bad movie; it just doesn't seem real."

People are making too much of a big deal about what Phil said, before Bob Marley died, Peter Tosh said nasty things about him, including wanting to beat him, but it was just angry talk. I'm sure Phil never wanted anything like what happened to Dime to actually happen.

Still, it just makes you think of what could be and what is/isn't.
God Bless Dime. Two years gone, 630 days we wish he hadn't died.
