Discuss who you think will win it here. Maybe the WWE will pull a swerve and a heel will win like the time when Vinnie Mac won (99), Steve Austin (97) and Shawn Michaels (95). Who knows?
If a heel wins this thing, I am rooting for Edge because being locked in a tag team with "Mr. Shit-in a Bag" is hurting him, not helping. Now that he's ditched that ho, (and believing me, ditching ho's does wonders for your career as well as state of mind) maybe he can win jump to SmackDown and defeat Batista and get the real title run he so deserves.
If a babyface wins, I am rooting for CM Punk for obvious reasons. Here's hoping he wins and then pulls a Benoit and shows up on RAW the following night. Remember how exciting that was in 2004 when Benoit came out of nowhere on Monday night?
Discuss.....

This is the first year in a while where I've had no idea who was going to win.
Mainly for the reason that nobody is getting that fan push that has caused others to win for the past 3 or so years. (Benoit, Mysterio, Batista)
If I had to pick a heel that I would guess would win, I would go with Mr. Kennedy.

Kennedy is the only other heel on Smackdown! besides King Bookah who has in-ring prowess as well as the ability to generate a reaction from just about any crowd he's working with. I wouldn't be suprised if Kennedy won at all, but I think they might give him the Money In The Bank III victory at Wrestlemania 23. But this is WWE so who knows.
In all honesty, a change up is in order; a change up as in a heel needs to win. Seeing that all three World Champions are babyfaces, one would expect that. But WWE may repeat the babyface v. babyface of 2001 when "Stone Cold" won the Rumble and faced The Rock; or they could run a program where the champion of choice turns heel after or near the rumble (like HBK in '98) to set up the traditional Mania main event.

I would love for Edge to win this thing. After the year he had in 2006, he deserves it more than anyone else. He was by a mile the best wrestler in the WWE. Plenty of good matches, and consistantly great on the mic. He got the fans behind Cena which is something quite spectacular seeing as Angle couldn't do it, even when he was bashing the US troops. The man made everything he was given great. From feuds with Cena and DX to ECW. Everything he did was entertaining. The guy made DX watchable! That's amazing! So, if WWE wants to do the right thing and pay back the person who kept the Raw brand interesting, then let Edge win this.
However, knowing the WWE, they won't. Even though it would be perfect. Edge wins the Rumble, says he doesn't want to face Cena again because he's already beaten him (a good way to chicken out of facing him again) and then he moves to SD! where he can get a title run that he deserves. Then Orton, on Raw, can get the shot at Cena after a nice little tournament or something. It would be the prefect way to break up Rated RKO. This way they can both remain heels and they can always re-unite at some point, during co-brand PPVs. it would be awesome if at WM23, both Orton and Edge win titles and then celebrate together at the end.
Being more realistic, i imagine Orton, Taker or Punk wins it.
Orton - Because from what i've heard, him and HHH are the two people they want to face Cena. I can't imagine that they'd 1. turn HHH or Cena heel, and 2. repeat the same main event, which wasn't all that great anyway. So Orton seems like the logical choice.
Taker - Again, i heard Taker is going to face Batista at Mania, so naturally he could win the Rumble. I wouldn't mind this at all, seeing as Taker hasn't ever won the rumble so it would be fitting for him to win it once before retiring.
Punk - More of a hunch than anything. I feel that the WWE have enough faith in him to let him get the win. Also, it would help establish ECW.

If they really wanted to stir things up they would have Kane finally win the Rumble. Year after year the Big Red Machine dominates but always ends up with the short end of the stick. I am in the minority and really don't want to see Undertaker v. Batista because the outcome is a given: Undertaker doesn't lose at Mania. Period. But his brother Kane, now that is a different story altogether. He's never got the title run he deserves and he could easily turn and play the heel in January; then we could have Undertaker/Kane Part 4,004 at NWO where Kane finally goes over his brother and carries that momentum into a match between himself and Big Dave.

Here's a prediction that hasn't been made yet: Booker T.
Why?
Because he's in the position to pull a Benoit and go to RAW and face Cena, Booker/Batista is done, and Batista's not losing that title any time soon, so I'll go out on a limb and say Booker, with Edge and Orton possibly feuding at WM, it would get hyped like no tomorrow...

My only problem with a King Bookah victory at the Rumble would be that he is already an established performer. Like Triple H of last year, Booker doesn't need a Rumble victory to secure a spot in the main event if that is what they have planned. I would think the winner of the Rumble would be someone who is indeed good, but needs that extra "bump" to get into the main event much like Mysterio, Batista, and Benoit in years prior.

Then that would take Edge out of it as well then.

Although Edge is "established", his title runs were by default. The first one where he snuck Cena seemed to be a way for WWE to feel out how Edge would work as a champ given a legit run, thus it only being three weeks long. The second one was by way of default since RVD got busted and WWE hurried like crack addicts chasing a rolling rock to get the title off him and onto a credible heel, only to have that heel fall to Cena mere weeks later. I, and I don't think I'm alone here, do not feel that Edge has had a real title run in the likeness of the Booker T's, Triple H's, the HBKs, Taker, blazzie-blah-blah. For Edge to win the Rumble and then win the title and go on a real title run would be poetic justice.
