I was just curious as to what everyone thought about The Great American Bash PPV last night and I welcome your feedback here, in this very thread. There were quite a few twists and turns, some were great, some were shit, but nevertheless the PPV delivered as expected.THE BOMB DIGGITY KING BOOKER WINSI am thrilled at the fact that King Booker is now the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. This is a move that was long overdue, but within the past few months, The King has stepped up his promos and continued with an impressive in-ring moves set. He plays the heel role to a T and I think the support of his wife has a lot to do with that. Congradulations, King Booker. Hopefully he gets the long haul to Mania 23 and is just not a transitional champion like Edge.PUNJABI PRISON MATCHFor two reasons: The match itself was insense as hell and who knew Taker and Show could deliver on that level. The second reason is that The Great Waste was replaced by Show and the PPV wasn't ruined. Two questions: Shouldn't the Taker be the new ECW Champion and secondly, does the staredown at the end of the match mean that Khali and Taker are not done? God forbid.WHAT WAS SHIT BATISTA v. MR KENNEDYNot because I don't like either of these two but this was just thrown together at the last minute and the way the match went it seemed as if Batista came off as the heel, maybe it's just me. Hopefully, that isn't what the WWE wants but judging by the less-than-thrilled reaction from the crowd on SNME, it would not be surprising.
Call me crazy but the new anti-drug policy and the injuries that follow as a result are REALLY starting to throw the storylines off. How long will the fans settle for last minute replacements to a storyline that's been worked on for months? I don't know why but Batista and Kennedy's absences have hurt their momentum big time, I think Kennedy's moreso than Dave's.MATT HARDY continues to get buried

to be honest, I'm almost completely the opposite of your opinions.
Anyways, breakdown. I thought the GAB without Mark Henry and Khali was definetly a step in the right direction. It wasnt as good as I thought it would be, but it was still a decent ppv. Based on 5 *'s
1. Kendrick/London vs. Pitbulls - **1/2 - While this was a decent match, it wasn't the show-stealer it had the potential of being. I felt that London messed up numerous times, and the match wasn't put together well. It had it's moments, but was overall a letdown to what it could have been
2. Finlay vs. Regal - ***1/2 This was a very good match, I thought. It had that old-WWE style to it when guys would take their time. It had a couple of dull moments, but was overall a solid match with two ring generals.
3. Hardy vs. Helms - **** This was the match of the night definetly. Well put together. It had fast-paced, high-flying action. It had slow, ground-paced action. Great match.
4. Punjabi Prison Match - ** This is one of the things I disagree with E2 on. I thought this was a horrible match. The environment was cool, and I hope to see the WWE do another one of these matches, but The Big Show & The Great Khali should not be in this environment, it does not suit them. This match was slow, and the ending was shit. I thought it was a let down from a great idea.
5. Diva 4-way - *1/2 The only reason I'm giving this one and a half stars is becuase it was a lot better than I thought it'd be for who was in the match. The ending didn't make sense. The match is over when one girl is in her bra and panties? The match would've been better if it were elimination.
Batista vs. Kennedy - ***1/2 This is the other thing I didnt agree with E2 on. I thought this match was WAAAYY better than I though it'd be. I really expected a Batista stomp, and instead we get Mr. Kennedy controlling 75% of the match, and then winning it. Kennedy controlling the match helped out a whole lot. The action was good, and it was unexpected. Eventhough many criticize the ending, I dont because Kennedy won, and I NEVER expected that.
7. Booker vs. Rey - **1/2 This was an ok match, but was a lot slower than I expected. It wasnt as good a match as it could've been. The ending, eventhough expected, was well done. I hate the stalling chair shot with the "who am I going to hit?" action. Chavo just came in, picked up the chair, and just flattened Mysterio with no stalling, no bullshit. Either way, I think this was better for storylines, so kudos there. Plus, Booker is now the six time! six time! six time! six time! six time! six time World Heavyweight Champion!

Tag Team Title Match - Letdown. The action was really slow and boring most of the time. London messed up his spots and Kendrick sucks at the hot tag because he hasn't got a wide enough moveset. Noble should have been in the ring for longer than he was. He was the best worker in the match and yet he got little time. Kash, althought decent, was boring. Kendrick is shit, seriously, i hate this guy. He's a fag and has like one move. They should have all hit their big moves at some point during the match, especially Noble.
US Title Match - I just got back from Wales yesterday and I'm tired, so i dozed off a lot during this match. I expect it was good overall, but what i noticed was slow and boring, but i know it probably was a great match.
Hardy Vs. Helms - MOTN. These two really are excellent. I was expecting Jeff to come out at the end because JBL kept on talking about how the Hardyz and Helms knew each other before, and he kept on mentioning Jeff. Ending was kinda lame, and the crowd was shit.
Punjabi Prison - Boring. The structure just looked so damn corny, i actually expected it to be made out of bamboo, and it practically was. I fast forwarded this match because it was gay. The ending looked extremely gay, really cheap.
DIva Match - Though it went on way too long. Didn't get to see much ass, so there was no consolation prize for having to watch a shitty match. Anyone notice how damn thin Kristal is?
Batista/ Kennedy - Loved this match. Just like Stare, i was really surprised at almost everything. This did wonders for Kennedy, he dominated the match. Batista looked good, and really looked like a monster. Him and Samoa Joe are fucking machines, i want to see them go at it.
Booker/ Rey - Best result of the night. I'm so happy Booker won. We have our first ever pure black champ. I'm glad Chavo didn't get totally booed after he knocked out Rey, because i so much prefer him to Rey. Booker's reactions to everything are hilarious, i love this guy, but i kinda wish he didn't need the gimick to become champ.
Other thoughts -Tag Team titles needs an actual feud and not just matches on SD! setting up a PPV match. It's too predictable. Kendrick sucks. London could be the next HBK.
- Regal Vs. Finlay could be a great feud.
- Wasn't helms supposed to face someone for the Cruiserweight Title? Anyway, i love this guy.
- Hardy is so over, despite being fed to everyone.
- The crowd was shit at GAB.
- I reckon the writers will be dreading that they put Hardy over Kennedy now.
- The whole Big Show coming to GAb thing was lame. Sure Khali sucks and all, but that was lame having a last minute change. Anyone know why he was replaced?
- Batista still owns, E2. The crowd still loves him and i think he's still good in the ring. He knows what he's good at and he exentuates those. Kennedy defintely lost his momentum, though.
- Chavo > Rey. I hope they don't make Chavo a total heel. Let him say that he hates that Rey was feeding off of Eddie's death or something like that. Let the crowd decide who's the heel and the face.
- Jillian has an incredibly ugly face. Michelle looks really plastic, even her face and her voice hurts my ears. Kristal is so thin! Ashley's new music sucks.
- Where was Super Crazy?

Khali had the same thign wrong as Super Crazy and Lashley, adn that's liver problems. I'd like to know what's up with this, cause it's much more than coincidence that this is happening to 3 guys within days of each other.
I think Chavo will pull the "You were doing all this for Eddie, and it should've been me!" storyline. Should be interesting, mostly because it includes an actual Guerrero.

Booker's reactions to everything are hilarious, i love this guy, but i kinda wish he didn't need the gimick to become champ. Word, my brotha. Even though it's WAAAAAYY overdue, it's good to see WWE putting the big one on Booker given his work ethic and his body being healthy for the most part of the year. He has no doubt been the single most entertaining heel on EITHER brand and I think he has Sharmell to thank for that. Aladdin - The U.S. title match was slow because they may have been paying tribute to retro WWE as Stare referred to earlier. The slow, methodic style of the 8os/early 90s were good times. Stare - I agree about the Chavo angle, especially with Chavo being related by blood. I would like to see them come with a "You rode Eddie's death to the title" or something similar. I've always think Chavo was misused since his feud with Eddie in 2004, so it's interesting to see how this will go and what kind of exposure he gets.

I read a review and the only thing I saw that even came close to peaking my interest was the Booker Man getting the belt. Other than that, I'd flush this and the whole roster split down the toilet. Smackdown has basically been fucked ever since they decided that RAW was the most important piece of wrestling program ever made. And as it turns out, the roster is proned to problems, whether it be disciplinary, drugs, or health issues.
My overall grade from what I've seen and heard from this show is Q... yeah its not getting the standard A-F, its too below average for that, so it gets a Q.

Regardless of WWE's apparent wish for RAW to be the dominant show, it comes off as repetitive and "talky" (see: Degeneration X/Spirit Squad) whereas Friday Night Smackdown! appeals to those of us who actually enjoy wrestling. Less talk and more grapple, dude.

Less talk and more Crapple is more like it. I will admit, back when Brock Lesnar was still around and Eddie was still alive, Smackdown was the better of the 2 shows... but since they both aren't around anymore, and Kurt Angle was told to do ECW, theres been no real big shot to build around.
Batista really wasn't around long after he was put over there to do anything with and since then, its been nothing but trying to find something to do to get back over. The wrestling that COULD be used on smackdown is being replaced by dumbed down, shadowy versions and slow paced boring, snoozefests. Typically on Raw, if they aren't wrestling, then they have some kind of GOOD angle going on.... but this whole DX thing came up and so its been shitty. They would have been better off building around a Triple H face turn WITHOUT D-Generation X and it would have worked out better.
EDIT: Besides if you're only watching wrestling on Fridays for actual WRESTLING, then you should change the channel over to TNA, they wrestle without good storylines, because they have no GOOD storylines. The wrestling though is solid on most occassions.

but this whole DX thing came up and so its been shitty. They would have been better off building around a Triple H face turn WITHOUT D-Generation X and it would have worked out better. They tried that in 2002 and it bombed horribly. I'm almost willing to bet that as soon as DX dismantles, the crowd will slowly begin to realize Trips for what he is: A heel. And I must say that TNA has peaked my interest in terms of ACTUAL WRESTLING. Storylines come off as goofy and plastic, but the grappling is the bomb diggity. I am, however, finding UFC more of a turn on each week. Brutality at its finest.

UFC has been better than wrestling since back in the mid nineties. You know back when wrestling was peaking and UFC was just getting noticed....
Real Fighting is always better than Fake Fighting.

Smackdown is not horrible just due to it's lack of stars, Smackdown is horrible due to the misuse of talent.
They push guys like The Great Khali & Mark Henry. They didn't even try to do anything with Benoit. They have bascially flushed Kennedy (despite last night, which I think he came off good). Hardy gets cheered louder than most of the top guys, and he's still a jobber. I'm glad that Smackdown is dwindling in numbers, cause it's making them have to push the guys who are ACTUALLY talented. I even hear rumors of a Finlay push. And they've put the title on Booker T, and that would have NEVER happened had Batista not taken a break and had Henry not gotten injured.

I wonder if Rey Mysterio is going to be Heel. That would be the day. I would pay to see Rey Mysterio being heel one day.

I wonder if Rey Mysterio is going to be Heel. That would be the day. I would pay to see Rey Mysterio being heel one day. Although a very intriguing idea, it just would not be believable. I find it hard to imagine a man that small as a legit threat to anyone on either roster, save for maybe the little leprachaun that comes out from under the ring on occasion.
