This thread will be opinion based obviously, but it will be dedicated to a top 5 concerning wrestling, not just the WWE. I will post a new topic ever-so-often, and just make your lists. Feel free to share your opinions on others answers, as well as argue one, but this isn't a "flame ok" forum, so keep it clean.
For the first one, I'll start off basic:
Top 10 Wrestlers of All Time For this topic, do not take mic work into consideration, this is strictly based on who you believe are the best pure wrestlers, gimmicks aside

I wonder what gave you the idea for this... 1. Kurt Angle - Versatile. He can wrestle with anyone and have a good match. 2. Bret Hart - Techincally he's probably the best. He knows how to tell a story, and he's one of the safest workers ever. 3. Chris Benoit - Yup. I think he's up there as one of the most gifted wrestler, technicallly ever. 4. Ricky Steamboat 5. Ric Flair 6. Dynamite Kid 7. Kenta Kobashi 8. Shawn Michaels 9. Samoa Joe 10. Christopher Daniels HM: Randy Savage - I never really saw much of him. AJ Styles Chris Jericho Owen Hart

Can I ask you guys- why Savage? I watched him as a kid, and even though he was one of my favorite wrestlers, I don't remember his matches being any better then average. He always seemed like a gimmick/charisma driven character.

well, while having charisma and a character, I always thought he was an outstanding wrestler, especially at understanding the concept of stringing a match together. IMO, anyone who can pull out a match with Ultimate Warrior the calibur of the one he did at Wrestlemania 7 deserves mad props.
I've always thought the guy was one of the best

PURE wrestlers?? Hrmm....
1. Eddy Guerrero - Nobody combines charisma and technical skills the way he did, especially in his early years. 2. Ric Flair - 16 World title runs, the first to win the rumble after starting at one, and has the uncanny ability to make the worst wrestlers look watchable. Plus he's the best move-seller in the business bar none. 3. Owen Hart - Yes, he was better than Bret, very entertaining as a heel, and can really put on a technical wrestling match. 4. Chris Benoit - The best product out of the dungeon that isn't a Hart, the pure viciousness of his moveset and technical prowess are virtually unmatched. 5. Hayabusa - This guy could do it all, go hardcore, fly like he had wings, submission wrestle, the most versatile pure wrestler on the list. 6. Toshiaki Kawada - The best at putting a longer match together and keeping it from being boring. 7. Shawn Michaels - A ring showman and cruiserweight specialist, not to mention some of the best technical skills anyone on the planet has ever seen, this is especially well-noted in his pre-DX days. 8. Ultimo Dragon - 9 cruiserweight/juniors titles at the same time? He's put in the work, and some great matches. 9. Bret Hart - More heralded than Owen, though IMO I don't think he was as good, had the most technically sound moveset outside of Flair. 10. Ricky Steamboat - Al least two classic matches with Flair, and one of the most decorated wrestlers of his time, he made wrestling a learning experience.

1. AJ Styles – Styles has done some of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen in pro wrestling, he’s very well rounded, and can have a good match with just about anyone.
2. “American Dragon” Bryan Danielson – I think he’s one of, if not the best technical wrestlers in the world today.
3. Samoa Joe – For being a big fat ass, Joe manages to have some of the best matches in the world.
4. Chris Benoit
5. Alex Shelly/Claudio Castagnoli – When it comes to hold-for-hold, mat-chain wrestling, I think these two guys are the best, not to mention the stringing the match together, and the in ring charisma things.
6. KENTA – He really knows how to build up a match, with all the drama of wondering who’s going to win, and incorporates striking/brawling with wrestling very well. He is also very good in tag matches with Naomichi Marufuji
7. Kenta Kobashi
8. Ric Flair
9. Ed “Strangler” Lewis
10. Dr. Wagner Sr.

On the Mic.....
1. The Rock - Everything that's come out of his mouth is wrestling lore.
2. Raven - It's so weird it's good.
3. Christian - The guy is comedy everytime, especially when he was with Edge.
4. The Dudleyz - Especially in ECW, they'd have the crowd rioting by the time they got out of the ring.
5. Ric Flair - Clear, clever, and concise every time.
6. Chris Jericho - The Stephanie rousings brought a tear to my eye.
7. HHH - Obviously.
8. Stone Cold - Yeah.
9. Dusty Rhodes - He's always compelling to me.
10. Hulk Hogan - If he was a face, you loved him, if he was a heel, he made you love hating him.

THE TOP 5 STORYLINES EVER
1. 1988- Ted DiBiase wanting to "buy" the WWF Title from Hulk Hogan. This eventually led to Andre/Hogan II where Hogan got screwed out of the title and a tourney was set up for Mania IV.2. 1992 - Jake "The Snake" Roberts and the Undertaker crash Macho Man and Elizabeth's wedding reception. At one point during this storyline, Jake's Indian cobra sank its teeth into Macho Man's arm.3. 1995 - The forming of the NWO and how they were so dominant, so intense, that they forced a "beat 'em or join 'em" attitude on the entire WCW.4. 1999 - Triple H/Stephanie McMahon marriage in Vegas. This was pure gold, especially when Hunter mocked Stephanie's voice while she was supposedly out-cold.5. 2006 - The Boogeyman/Booker T angle.

1. Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Vince McMahon --- I dont know if any other storyline has ever had the significance on sports entertainment that this one had.
2. Shane busy WCW under Vince's nose --- This was pure genious, and even the aftermath of the invasion was done well, the matches were just shitty.
3. HHH married Stephanie --- As E2 said, this was pure gold.
4. Hogan joins the Outsiders to form the NWO --- Everything leading up to this was genious. Nobody thought Hogan could be turned heel, and it would be believable, but the WCW writers pulled it off perfectly.
5. Kurt Angle vs. Steve Austin --- I personally loved this feud. I thought the events that happened betwen these two men during their time together was grand. Everything from Stone Cold and Kurt joining hte alliance, to Kurt singing in a cowboy hat, the Kurt turning on the Alliance, to Kurt spraying Stone Cold with a milk truck.
