Considering there have been many former wrestling stars coming back to the WWE lately, I figured we needed a thread dedicated to discussing it. The most recent is:

Former WWE & WCW superstar Sean O'Haire is in Omaha today for a tryout with World Wrestling Entertainment. O'Haire was last seen on WWE TV as part of the whole Vince McMahon/Rowdy Piper/Mr. America feud.
Personally, I want to see him come back. I liked him. He had a good character, and a good look to him.

O'Haire is shit.
He did nothing of significance his first time around and I don't believe that will change now.
Other shit returns include: 1. Tatanka - are you serious?
2. Animal - He's over the hill, fat and ugly. Watching him cut a heel promo against Hardy a few weeks ago on Smackdown was a disgrace to prime time TV.
3. Matt Hardy - Aside from the match with Edge at SummerSlam (in which the finish did him no justice) he's been used as a joke and sent to the B-show in the process. His fanfare faded a month after his return, and it's obvious now that he's nothing better than a tag wrestler. Oh and WWE is making a joke of this man by pairing him up with other has-beens. (see #1)
4. Chuck Polumbo - I don't know who fucked who in the back to arrange this one.
*All jokes aside, I think the overall product would be better if WWE actually forked out the bling bling and got guys like The Rock, Muhammad Hassan, Austin etc. to return, people who actually got a natural reaction from the crowd rather than a forced one.

They can't get Hassan back because that would be controversial...
but its cool to put people in caskets and light them on fire, have psycho stalkers abduct and threaten people, have a retarded wrestler, have "stripper" tag teams, ex pornstars, girls in a playboy, apparent bi sexuals, a southern boy with a bit of a gay side, golddust, mock the dead...and various other monstrosities as part of the roster.
Can't have an "arab american" though. Thats too hardcore I guess.

I was more surprised TNA didn't pick Hassan up and rename him "Osama Mohammad" just to gain some ratings when Sting ain't around.

I just think that the WWE should bring back some of the names they had in 1999- 2003. It would be nice to see the Dudley Boys, Farooq, Rikishi, even names that were gained in 2001 from WCW and ECW, such as Rhyno, Lance Storm, and Palumbo (I don't care what anyone said, he had a lot of potential). I'm glad that Test is back, but as for O Haire, it would be nice to have him back, but I still believe he is over appreciated.

and various other monstrosities as part of the roster. Such as necrophilia, and 80 year old women giving birth to biracial hands.

Can I ask an honest question on the matter, Ecos?
The character of Hassan did nothing but talk down on America and the way we treated the Arab-Americans, claiming they were terrorists, and so on. Well, let me bring up the most popular wrestler in history . . . Hulk Hogan. He came down to music "I am a Real American", and in his feuds with The Iron Sheik and Sgt. Slaughter, Hogan did nothing but talk down on them and would priase America.
Now, I know we like to think highly of and defend our country, but what is the difference between a guy who praises America and insults Arabs, and a guy who praises his Arab culture and insults America? America is a country that promotes Freedom of Speech and the right to have an opinion, and you belittle the character of Muhammad Hassan why? Cause that's what he did.
Granted, looking back, I could see how the antic that got him taken off tv was justified a bit (eventhough I still think people overreacted), but I dont understand your problem with him.

eco dude, you just like to disagree with people! If i were to say the sky is blue, you would find some argument against it!
the amount of heat that hassan got makes him a brilliant heel, regardless of your opinion on how he got that heat.
i was never a fan, i dont even think he was that technically good, however, he went out to piss people off and he did it, therefore, he was a good heel!

Maybe the thing is that Hassan himself was a poor wrestler, and the gimmick that worked so well would've worked just just as well for any Arab/Tanned Italian wrestler.

Hassan was a great heel, Eco. The guy had tremendous heat and it was due to his political beliefs. No-one else in the comany brings up things like that so it made him unique. It was the fans that made him a great heel. Originally they were going to let the fans decide whether he was going to be a face or a heel, based on his little vignettes before his debut. He got booed and so became a heel.
Everything the guy said on Raw was the truth. He never once lied about anything political. He bent the truth a bit when it came to things like matches and outcomes but when he cut a promo about the prejudice of America, you knew he was being honest and telling it like it was.
Technically he wasn't too good in the ring, but he cut promo better than quite a lot of the roster. Daivari was good in the ring so at least he's back.
I think it's pretty stupid and very one dimensional that you can get behind someone like Hogan who bigs up USA a lot and belittles pretty much everyother nationality but you sincerely hate someone who stands up for his own nationality (storyline-wise since he was Italian). He never actually came out and said e hated America, he just didn't like the prejudice of America. He always stated that he was an Arab-American.

I think Hassan getting fired was a bit harsh, was he great? Not really... but he did keep our attention, which is better than 90% of the roster.
