I would like your opinion on the top five most disrespected guys in WWE history (depending on your age, the eras may vary). And by disrespected, I mean they could have been good wrestlers who were overlooked, mistreated, or shafted by WWE management somehow.
Booker T - I may not be the first to gripe about this and I probably won't be the last. But the ONLY time Booker T was World Champion was during the Invasion angle in 2001 and technically, he brought that belt in with him. Since then, I think he's been mistreated. Even to this day, the man is one of the best workers in the business, but is stuck in a feud with an overgrown cartoon who eats worms and knows only two wrestling moves. And let's not forget the two chances WWE had to reward this man with World Title reigns.
*cough*Hunter*cough*JBL*cough*.
Kurt Angle - He and Shelton Benjamin are the best pure athletes the company has and yet, his World Title reigns have never been significantly long. The longest I think was his first one in 2000/01 which lasted only four months. I think for someone who can put on match of the year and main event continually, WWE has shafted him.
Ted DiBiase - I remember when "The Million Dollar Man" cut a promo where he said he would give $300.00 to any one who could "dribble this basketball fifteen times." This kid of about 7 years, volunteers and begins the task. Just as he gets to 14, DiBiase kicked the ball and sent the kid back into the crowd crying. The fans were mad! And you hated this guy right away. He could generate all kinds of heat but never got a WWF Title run that lasted more than day. Bullshit. Although the evil laughter he did during "the freaks" segment at Mania 22 was pure gold.
KANE - This one is obvious. He holds the WWE Title for 24 hours, yet is one of the most agile and impressive superstars for a guy his size. He is headlining a summer movie, yet is stuck in the midcard. Think about some of Kane's history and you'll see that I need not explain anymore.
The Rock - This may seem far-fetched, but I always thought the Rock was the most charismatic on the mic and not that bad in the ring. He was a heavy draw and could put asses in seats, yet was always shoved to the backburner for the likes of Triple H and Steve Austin. Go figure.

Hence Rock off in Hollywood making more than HHH and Austin with out the risk of paralysis, even though Austin is retired.

Not in order.
[glow=blue,2,300]1. Booker T[/glow] I have only now started to like Booker, his matches are better than ever. And is funny. He has a great work rate, good on the mic and it is a crime that he has never gotten any WWE world title gold.
[glow=blue,2,300]2. Chris Jericho[/glow] Yes he did win a world title, but so what. It was lame and short. This guy is missing at least 4 world title reigns. His matches are great (only person ever to make Cena look good.) And IMO is only beaten by the Rock on Mic skills. Totally miss used in 03, (after WM19) And even more in 04. It's a shame because it seems that he has now, well retired.
[glow=blue,2,300]3. Christian Cage[/glow] If there is any proof need to show that TNA listens to IWC. It's that they were the only ones to push this guy. And get rid of JJ as Champ. Many doubted his move from WWE. But it has ended up being a good one. He was being held down so badly it was ridiculous. He was the wrong status, shouldn't have been a heel. he is a prime example that the WWE are idiots.
[glow=blue,2,300]4. RVD[/glow] I know that many people are not huge fans of his, but to be honest. This guy should have had atleast one title reign. Hopefully he can win the title at One night stand. I can dream, can't I?
[glow=blue,2,300]5. Edge[/glow] Winning the belt really lit a fire under edge. He was a breath of fresh air, and he deserves his push that he is getting. But a 3 week title speaks for itself.

I agree that the superstars you mentioned were under-appreciated, but the WWE had good reasons for holding them down.
The reason why Brooker T is held back, is because of the simple fact that many people have a problem with him backstage. As a matter of fact, when he first arrived on Smackdown!, almost the entire roster on Smackdown! did not get along with him in real life. It's a really bad idea to put someone in the main event, while in real life, most the the roster as a hard time getting along with him.
Chris Jericho is the same way. You really can't complain about Jericho, because the last match he had was for the WWE title. Chris Jericho had a number of backstage feuds against HHH and Kevin Nash. It was his own decision to start political fights with the clique.
The WWE management are not morons for giving Christian the push. They felt that it wasn't nessesary to give him the push, and I am sure that if Christian would have stayed in the WWE, he would have actually got the push in 2006. I also believed that Christian makes a classic heel. TNA does go with the IWC, but that isn't always a good thing.
RVD will get his time soon, but the reason why he was held back was because of suspesion that he was a drug user. In ECW, he smoked A LOT of weed, so the WWE had a right to keep an eye on him. It's not good business to put the title on someone who has a reputation with drugs.
Edge is still in the main event, so you can't say he is being held back now.
Other than that I do agree with you that the mentioned names should have had more of an edge. It annoys me that people like JBL were chosen over the mentioned names, just because people like Jim Ross favors him. If you look at the whole situation, it's not all the McMahons, people like John Ace and Jim Ross really choose their favorites. To bash the WWE as a single being really doesn't make sense.

For once I agree with you.
In no order:
Owen Hart: He was one of the best at the time and he was stuck in feuds with Goldust and HHH. He could have been a HBK like champion.
Ted Dibiase: Same reasons as E2.
I will think of more later.

I agree with you there, I never had a problem with Christian's spot in the wwe, because I think they had him where he belonged (tag team/midcard). Other than pot, what drugs did Van Dam really take? (besides maybe acid.) RVD never has had a problem with drugs, infact I bet drugs have only helped his career.

1. Jake Roberts --- Why the man was never given a serious run at the belt or a run with it is beyond me. He is definetly one of the best at stringing a match together. And, I always thought he was one of the best wrestlers. Though, I did enjoy the comment on his dvd about "I didnt need a belt to give me credibility". Classic.
2. Owen Hart --- The guy was every bit as good as Bret, IMO. I think that was the reason he was held back, cause Bret had the starpower already established, and the WWE felt they would clash. And they probably would have honestly.
3. Dean Malenko --- For the talent this guy posesses, the WWE didnt give him the time of day while he was on-screen.
4. Jeff Hardy --- I'm sure I'll get it for this one, but I honestly believe this. In that classic match with the Undertaker, he had the fans completely backing him, and wanting him to win. I think the WWE made a HUGE mistake never capitalizing off that night on the next week. It was like it never happened.
5. Mr. Perfect --- How can you not say this guy was held back? In my mind, one of the greatest ever. Should've been WWE Champion many times.
HM: Rick Rude, Ted Dibiase . . . same as Mr. Perfect

Oh yeah, Hennig for sure.
While that may be true, many backstage didn't get along with Shawn Michaels, but we all know how well his career went. It's one thing if the locker room doesn't like you, but it's different when management doesn't like you and only keeps you around because your over. And I think it had more to do with management than with other wrestlers.

Kane This is the biggest hold back, well imo EVER. Back when Kane won the title, for 24 hours, he was over with the crowd, his in ring skill was great, and the character, being far fetched, got well over with everyone. And now 8 years later, sure he has had shots at the title, but not actully won it yet. When Kane showed his face to the world, it was like old Kane again, kicking the crap out of everyone and taking no shit. One of the best big men in the biz, if not the best
Raven Now i know alot of you would expect me to say this but think about it. Raven went from one of the main guys in ECW, to a mid card at best in WCW, back to ECW in the upper mid card, to the WWE where his career went down hill. He got a small push at the begining with the Tazz, Lawler fued, and short run with the Hardcore title but thats all the main time he got. Raven at very least could have been IC champ. I still remember his last WWE match, it was agaisnt jeff hardy for a spot in the royal rumble, and Raven came out in normal wrestling gear, and you can tell by his face, he wasn't happy.
Jake Roberts Stare pretty much said it all. But where he lacked in his appearance and made up with having one of the best minds for wrestling.
Jericho The guy is golden, thats it.
Vampiro I said him because i feel he was truly underused, he had a fued with sting yea, but the rest of the time he sort of went from one stupid storyline to another. I personally think he is a great in ring talent and should have been United States champ at least.
