Fight breaks out at SummerSlam commercial shoot May 8, 2006
SmackDown Superstars Batista and Booker T got into a knockdown, drag-out fight Monday afternoon on the set of World Wrestling Entertainment’s SummerSlam commercial shoot in Encino, California. Director of WWE Television Promotions, John Gaburick, tells WWE.com the fight broke out during the filming of a scene in the commercial which will be used to promote SummerSlam later this year. “The fight lasted at least five minutes, it was a brutal, bloody, vicious affair,” says Gaburick. “It took JBL, Mark Henry, Chris Benoit, Finlay and road agent Ricky Steamboat to finally break things up.”
Gaburick says, “Both men were banged up pretty good, both men were bloodied up.” After the fight, Booker T and Batista went behind closed doors to try and clear the air. Gaburick says both Booker T and Batista finished their required work on the commercial before leaving the set. When asked what the fight was about, Gaburick would only say “it’s a personal issue between two men.”
The SummerSlam commercial was filmed Sunday using RAW Superstars and Monday using SmackDown competitors.

Well, I don't think problems between their talent is something the WWE would report itself unless it was to use as a storyline. I think this is a total work myself.
Batista can't be thrown right back in the title hunt . . . so who can we feed him at Summerslam? How about the same guy we feed to everyone, Booker T? Good idea! End of story.

This could have gone in the Smackdown thread.

The fact that Booker wasn't murdered leads me to believe that this is a silly facade.

I actually believe this might be real. First off, since the death of Eddie, there has been a lot of drama among the WWE talent. Another thing to consider is that not only Brooker T was really no friend of Eddie, but Brooker T has many foes backstage, and drama revolving around Brooker T wasn't anything new. The third thing to consider is that Batista in real life had a history of having a short temper. Batista did manage to control his anger at one point in his life, but he is only human, and there is a chance that Brooker T made him snap. Again, I am not saying this was real, but I am saying there is a good possibility that it could have been because of these reasons.

This is a work, do you really think WWE would publicly discuss backstage problems with its wrestlers?

It's a work.
Like Stare mentioned, Booker T is the new Christian and gets fed to everyone. This is Batista's rebound feud in order to get into the title hunt. Once he squashes Booker, he'll be a legit contender for the title.

I'm not saying as a fact that this isn't a work, but I am saying it's very possible this could have been real because of the reasons I mentioned. If this was real, the WWE WOULD publically discuss it Hercules. Not only the WWE would know about it so there would be no point to "keep it under wraps". The WWE could even use this for a modivating feud between Brooker T and Batista. Again I am not making any statements that it is a fix or real.

I think I see what Ecos is saying. It could have really happened, and the WWE are exploiting it for storyline's sake. Sort've like Matt Hardy, Edge, and Lita.
It is possible, don't get me wrong, but I think they're embelishing it a lot. Do you really think the other wrestlers would've just stood by and watched for 5 minutes as these two guys "bruised and bloodied each other"?
5 minutes, think about that, that's a long time for conditioned athletes to fight and not seriously injure each other.

Personally, I think it's real. I can't tell for sure, but I'm swayed over that way.
Although if it was real, it seems strange that it'd go on for so long and the only thing to come out of it is a swolen eye and bloody nose.
I think it's true though, and why not post it on their main site? All wrestling insider sites will end up telling the world, so if WWE just ignored it, people would be wondering why they never fight on SmackDown! By announcing it, they set up a fued. Let's face it, WWE haven't really got much storylines going have they, so one has just been created for them, so why not take it?

Just to think of it, Brooker T would have made a great opponment for Batista during his title reign.

Meat Muppet...
If there is a falling out, I'll say Booker T will leave and go to TNA. Batista's too much of McMahon's butt puppet.
