Hopefully this will gather enough traffic and interest and get pinned, but that is ultimately up to the gentlemen upstairs. This thread is just what it suggests, Random WWE. Feel free to discuss anything WWE-related. past, present or future. Jesus, those are huge.I was going through my WWE library last night and came across an old episode of Smackdown! from Summer 2001. It was the last SD! before Summerslam and they were hyping the PPV like you wouldn't believe. First thing I noticed was the size of the crowd. The arena was packed, no "blacked" out areas like today. And the entrance ramp was about three times as long as the one WWE uses now on SD!. Free TV had the feel of PPV. I guess we're in the midst of a draught, like the one prior to the attitude Era. Austin and Rock came to the rescue back then. Who will rescue WWE now? John Cena and ........?I think Test is the man. I don't know why the E shafted him before, but this man works his ass off, looks good, and brings the intesity. Although he could use some improvement on the mic, the man is capable of main eventing either show, in my black opinion. Are we headed for yet ANOTHER Kane/Undertaker fued? If I remember correctly, May 19 was the date Undertaker accidentally burned Kane when they were kids. It also happens to be the date his movie is released. And the mask is coming back . If either of these men are traded and end up on the same show and they do run a program, a major championship better be involved. Why do i get the feeling a DX reunion would flop worse than WWE's version of the NWO? Who is DX going to fued with, The Spirit Squad? Please. And after nearly three years of trying to kill each other, we're just suppose to believe that HBK and Triple H will let bygones be bygones and join forces? That almost negates the entire fued. I would rather they were paired up due to circumstance (forced) rather than willingly. Stick those bananas where they belong Spackle.Anyone else think Wrestlemania X-7 was THE perfect PPV? From the opening match of the card to the main event? Anyone think Goldberg would have made a better heel in WWE. Anyone peep Jillian’s tits? Anyone care? Discuss...

Test is alright, in small doses, and I don't think WM17 was that great.

I met Mickie James today, and I must say she is extra-hot. Seriously.
I almost stopped breathing.

She's no hotter then some random chick in a night club. Especially if that woman is Shannon Moore. Any lady that wrestles topless is fucking tits. Yuck.

Damn Trent, you have a really sweet job.
As for the WWE, I'm going to admit out that most of the stuff I said to defend the WWE's management was just for the sake of defending the McMahon family, and most of the criticisms made here were true. I believe that the WWE is in another dark age, and I believe that things will still get worse before things get any better. I barely watch Raw anymore, and I spend most of that time playing World of Warcraft. Many of my friends are now watching TNA, and I will admit for the first time that TNA has better wrestling than the WWE.
I still believe that the WWE is not a bad fed, they just concentrate on different areas, mostly the entertainment part. But, what I have to judge about the WWE lately is that they are putting little value into their big names. On Smackdown! they intergrate mid card wrestlers with main eventers way too much, and they move statuses around too much. They also no longer have a structured society in the WWE community. Raw lacks a GM, while Smackdown! does have one, and the way how they choose faces and heels are irrational. For example, I believe that Masters would have made a better face because of the storyline, but since Carlito got more cheers, he became face, while I believe that he makes the classic heel. Just simple situations like that make me believe that the staff takes little interest in the BALANCE of the fictional community.

Should the WWE Intercontinental Title be moved to Smackdown! for more exposure?

Not even the US Title has been exposed, and thats including JBL holding it. That title lost a good prestige after OJ's debacle of a 5 month reign.

^Great post Yeah, but at least the U.S. Title is defended regularly, including all of the SD PPVs and some of the major events such as Mania. The Intercontinental Title cannot even boast this. The title was a mere trinket at SS when Hunter wasted Flair. At least on SD!, where most of the mid-carders are, the title would be defended and that could bring back at least some of it's cred, Cabana.

I'm a much bigger fan of having longer, meaningful reigns opposed to the back and forth switches that Benoit and Booker showed during their never-ending feud. OJ had the chance to do that, but WWE decided to take a shit all over his reign and have him have a 1-match feud with Heidenreich and a redundant and boring series with Benoit throughout the summer.

John Cena will not help the WWE out of the current dark age. I'm sure they'll dig their way out somehow, but it won't be using him.
Test is okay.
Kane/Undertaker could be cool right now. Storyline wise, anyways.
DX will never be the same, because Savio Vega is dead. And so is SyxxX-Pack or whatever the ratty little retard called himself.
Can't put anymore bananas in there, I'm sorry to say it's full up.
X-7 was fucking tits. Then everything started snow-balling.
The intercontinental belt is shit. The only belts that even has a shred of credibility are the world titles, and thats hanging by Cena's merchandising skillzzz and Eddie's corpse.

I liken the Rey Mysterio world title run to that of Chris Benoit's: A title run given due to sympathy. Do you really think WWE would have given the belt to Chris Benoit had there only been one brand? Do you really think Rey would be wearing the big one had Eddie not died?
Like Benoit, I think this is Rey's one and only title run, and I think WWE will extend him the courtesy of lettiing Rey Rey run with it until SummerSlam. My question is, who is being groomed to run with the belt after Mysterio?
Let's explore some options:
Batista - It would work as a storyline feud since they were friends and now they could have one of those "May the best man win" type of matches. But Batista is fresh off a major injury, and like Orton, I don't think he'll be rushed back into the main event upon his return.
JBL - Although he's proven that he's a consistent force, I think a Lashley/JBL program is in the works for the U.S. Title throughout the summer.
The Undertaker - Only works part time and has had many opportunities to walk with the title during the past couple of years and simply decided not to. Retirement must be looming.
The only logical conclusion I can draw is that it will be a draft pic who comes over and gets into the main event with Rey. Edge and/or Kane seem like logical choices. John Cena has an iron grip on the WWE title and if merchadising continues the way it has for that spinning title, you can bet he'll keep that grip. You think JBL's title reign was long and played out? I see RVD getting the same slap in the face Edge got at the Rumble. Win the belt at One Night Stand and then lose it back to Cena two weeks later at Vengeance
So, gentlemen, who's it going to be?

I think JBL will win against Rey soon. Not at Judgement Day but soon. I also think Rey isn't a believable champ. He gets his ass kicked on SD! and loses. But then at PPV, he wins. Does it make sense? Of course not. I still think that Rey shouldn't be champ because of Eddie. It loses the credibility of the champ and belt.

Rey's reign is good in principle, but he'll probably lose it to Batista around SS...

It makes sense to keep the title on Rey from a safety standpoint. Sure he takes high risk manuvers that may one day cost him his life, but at this point in time, WWE needs a champion who will not fail a juice test or get injured due to coming off the sauce. Thus, Rey Mysterio.

Actually, Rey has a knee injury which he is trying to work through. He'll be taking time off, once he loses the title.
And Rey's most high flying move, nowadays, is a springboard dropkick, which is hardly the most spectacular move in the world. So, i doubt he'll lose his life, doing one of those.
As for Benoit, I'm sure he'll have some sort of match. Probably a re-match with Finlay, where he'll go over, since Finlay won their KOTR match in dodgy fashion. Or he'll have some sort of tag match with Gunner Scott.

All the minorities end up on Smackdown! because they relate to audience members. You see, blacks and Hispanics are too poor to go out and have a good time on Friday Nights, so they stay home and watch other blacks and Hispanics on TV. The latinos root for Rey, their hero. And the niggers root for the next King of the Ring: Booker T.

Lashley/Booker will probably surpass Angle/Henry, and anyone surpassing a Kurt Angle match is odd.
