Is anyone into Formula One or any motor sports?

I am sure to get called redneck and get bombarded with the "its not a real sport" line but I am into nascar. I try to go to at least 1-2 races a year. Also I been watching Indy car a little bit but that is cause of Danica Patrick.

I am going to formula one British Grand Prix. It is on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, but it is on T.V on Saturday and Sunday.

NASCAR sucks. A waste of gas, if you ask me.
That's petrol, for those of you across the pond.

Now after a comment like that, I being a huge fan of nascar could easily flame you. But I won't sink that low. Thats your opinion and you are entitled to it. But any sport that sees a crowd of 150,000-200,000 weekly come out to see a race, certainly can't be viewed as being a waste of gas.
Nascar is right now the #2 sport in America right behind American Football. Its viewership has increased yearly. The rights that networks have paid for Nascar have also increased. Nascar has moved from a southern sport to a national sport. They are even in the early stages of building a track in New York city.
Have you even bothered to attend a race live? Its one thing to sit on your chair in your home watching it but its a entirely different atmosphere when you attend one live. There is nothing that beats that live experience. I have a friend that was like you and not really into nascar. We took her to a race once and after the race she became a fan. She really enjoyed the race.
If you are gonna to speak badly of a sport next time, kindly state reasons and facts behind while you believe so instead of just saying that it sucks. I could do the same thing about Formula One. I never seen a race and could do a one line post saying Formula One sucks, but without watching a race or having facts to back my statement up, that would be redundant. I on the other hand just simply tell Fizz to have a good time at her race this weekend.

Formula one race was boring this year but GP2 was on Sunday. It was great.

I actually went to a race, and for some bizzare reason it was actually exciting. I guess it's the adrenaline of actually being there.

I amit that Formula one is really good at the British Grand Prix sometimes. It is just that it wasn't that good this year for some resion.

You are gonna get that every now and then with a race. Like with nascar, there have been a couple boring races.(waiting for E2 to chime in with the "all of them are boring post"). If there isn't alot of changes for the lead, enough passing thru the whole field, everyone stuck to running the same line, it makes for a long day at the track. There was a track or two where that happened every week. But the owners of those tracks have worked to make the races more exciting and create another line on the track for drivers to race so they can pass more easy.
That might be what happened with you at your formula one race. Not enough lead changes( there usually isn't alot in it is there?) and not enough people passing for position. But I don't know if that is 100% accurate or not. Maybe you might be a girl that is into big wrecks and there wasn't any at the race.

In nascar news Formula One driver Juan Pablo Montoya has been let go of his ride. Now he is free to move over to Nascar and drive for Chip Ganassi and the #42 car soon then expected. I am sure that comes as bad news to Fizz as she is majorly into F1.

Yeah. It was bad news to hear that but I am so happy for Jenson Button winning his first ever race in formula one yesterday. I say all hail king Jenson Button.

Well this weekend has certainly been a jam pack racing weekend for yours truly. First last night I watched the nascar race from Bristol. A very good race. Unfortunately the driver I wanted to win came in 3rd. But better then seeing Jeff Gordon or Jimmy Johnson walk away with the win.
Then today I happen to catch the formula one race from turkey on the speed channel. Definitely different from what I am accustom to. Of course there was a big wreck at the start of the race. Was interesting to see that they could take the whole nose piece off of a car and replace it in no time flat. With nascar we use duct tape to fit the front in. During the whole race I kept a eye on Jenson Button but he couldn't seem to get past 4th place the whole race. Even when Michael Sumacker screwed up in that one turn and went off course.
Also their cautions were different from nascar. When a caution comes up in nascar, the whole field slows down and can catch up. Not in F-1. They keep going full speed. I bet if F-1 was to adopt that, then they wouldn't go and run away with the lead like they was. But all and all it was a pretty good race. I can see why Fizz got hooked on it. But I bet if given the chance I could get her hooked on nascar..

I thought that Michael Schmacher was going to overtake Fernando Alonso at the last lap but he didn't thank god.

A mouth after his first win and I still can't stop going on about it and I have already got my tickets for British Grand Prix. You can do it Jenson. Give me and my mum £50 if you win the British Grand Prix next year Jenson.

I can't belive that Fernando Alonso my second favourite driver has won the drivers championship yet again and Jenson did well as well today finishing 3rd in Brazil.

I can't wait for the Formula One season to start again next weekend in Australlia. I have just got into Moto GP and World Superbikes as of late. My favourites are Nicky Hayden, James Toseland and Casey Stoner.
