I could have sworn there was a MLB thread in here but I guess I was wrong. Now I usually don't get into baseball until playoff time and if the Phillies are a lock. But this Ryan Howard fella impresses more and more each day. The fact that he's hitting these homeruns post steroid era is even more impressive. And the Phillies remain in the Wild Card hunt with a good chance of making it. I know Trent follows MLB and a few others as well. Any thoughts on this? What team(s) do you think is a lock?

AL Playoffs: Chicago White Sox @ New York Yankees Los Angeles Angels @ Detroit Tigers
NL Playoffs: Los Angeles Dodgers @ New York Mets San Diego Padres @ St. Louis Cardinals
That's how I see with the White Sox & Dodgers winning the Wild Card.

From a Dodger mark, thats no surprise. But they always choke... but so do the Giants if they get into position. Bunch of fags.

I like the Dodgers, but I really think this is the Mets' year.

The Blue Jays had a chance but they blew it. I really hate that.

I like the Dodgers, but I really think this is the Mets' year. Maybe another "subway series" in New York, the way things are looking at this point. But in other news, Ryan Howard continues to impress. Heht back-to-back homers the other night against Florida. I am hoping another steroid scandal does not present itself in other six months....

I doubt it's another Subway series. If the ChiSox make it back in, they're my pick.
Fuck the Yankees, they've shown me nothing this year.

Crazy, considering your from New York and all.
But forget the Yankees, Ryan Howard and the Phillies are red hot right now and let's hope they clinch that wild card.
This city needs a sports team to root for right now.

One day, the Cubs will be the best in baseball, and the world will be back in order.
'Til then, go Tiggers.

The Cubs were poised to go somewhere back when Sammy Sosa was poking steriod needles in his buttcheeks and hitting home runs like there was no tomorrow. Since then, they've fallen off the charts and apparently remained in obscurity.

The Yankees/Tigers game was actually interesting last night. Games like that actually make them worth such a massive payroll. Detroit tried to rally back on the 5th, but it was no use. New York offense was just too strong. And Trent, I'm still calling another "Subway Series" this year. The East side owns the West.

Even though the Mets won, they did not look like the best team out there today.
We'll see what happens tomorrow.

I was baffled by the Yankees blowing a chance to take the 2-0 lead over Detroit. Oh well, I'll gibe Detorit their props. Even though they ended the season on a low note, they won enough games during the first half and they deserve to "be here". I'm still sticking with another subway series prediction. Hey the Mets are looking good against the Dodgers, right Trent? Trent? Trent?
