With Barry Bonds tied with Hammerin' Hank, the question is obvious. Will you care/do you care if he breaks the record?
Personally, I don't care. Barry's gotten so indulged in controversy over the years, between steriod allegations and off-the-field behavior, it's turned everyone who doesn't live in San Fransisco (and several who do) off to the home run chase.

I won't care. You know why? Cause in 5 years A-Rod is gonna pass Bonds and become the all time home run leader.

Or Griffey would be right now if he hadn't been injured as much as he was.

Well if Griffey hadn't gotten injured, he would be neck and neck with Bonds right now, but that was the case, A-Rod would still beat both of them and become the all time home run leader.

Yeah, no doubts. A-Rod's gonna be the founder of the 800 club, provided Bonds doesn't 'roid his way to 800. Babe Ruth's probably gonna love that. Instead he's probably shaking his head at ol' Barry Bonds.

The way Bonds is playing, I would say that he will max out at 760-765. He isn't hitting homers like he did back when he was younger. He might say he is gonna play another year but dont' bet on it. Who is going to sign him next yr? The Giants are gonna let him go and focus on building a championship team.

Well, now that this is over. We can focus on what baseball is all about: The World Series.

The team drags down the team you moron. 1 guy can't fuck up a team, if that were true he would have been traded already. Bitterness runs deep in you I see.

Let's face it, the Giants suck, and they'd be better off with just about anyone playing in Bonds' place.
Like that pitcher-turn-centerfielder in St. Louis.

The fact is, that again, you just seem bitter. "In Bonds place" doesn't fucking matter. The dude in St. Louis isn't carrying his team on his shoulders. He just so happens to be having good run and the moment, which will fizzle just like everybody else. If it starts up again after that, then he's a big shot. At the moment, Bonds was basically the reason that people were going to Giants games, because they've proven that even on their good years they are good for 1st round of the playoffs and thats about the end of it.
Their current roster is full of garbage and the whole thing needs an overhaul not just Bonds spot.

First of all, Bonds is NOT the reason the Giants eat dick. The fact that the average guy on their roster is 65 years old, their "ace" is getting 120million to go 9-11 with a 4.88 ERA, and they have Randy Winn hitting in the 3 hole may have some part in the equation.
Bonds is still a feared hitter and has the highest onbase percentage in baseball by far, I'd say he's doing his part... as strange of a part that it is.
And yes, I do care about this record. Being a player myself with professional aspirations, I can first hand say that steroids do not make you a better hitter. What steroids do, is decrease the amount of effort it takes to generate a strong swing. Now if you have a crappy swing to begin with, or you just aren't a good hitter, that's not going to help.
Obviously Bonds is a bad example of this because he's such a great hitter that it's going to help him. But the fact remains: You still have to turn around a 95mph fastball on your own accord.
And by the way, why is ARod let off the hook so easily? Everyone says steroids this, steroids that, and ARod's name never gets thrown into the mix? Come on. The guy is built like a freakin Greek sculpture but that's totally cool cause he's ARod. It's completely fine for him to be "naturally strong". Ever see him when he first came up? Skinny as a rail!
