Good move or bad move?
He shook things up at the last TNA show, but what about the long run?

Well, i don't think he has much name recognition, but the guy can cut a good promo.

Jim Cornette?... NO NAME RECOGNITION?? Dude, this is the south we're talkin about here, he's been a main name down there forever. He is one of the best managers to have graced the wrestling world, and not only that, he's an accomplished booker around that area. I would say as far as being recognized where he is, he won't have much problem with that.
If anything they'll be watching his temper as that seems to be his main problem. I think overall he's got more recognition than Zbysko, but not more than Dusty Rhodes... basically though, he's already making it look like a better show. His promos are doing the job and his segments are also making it look as if he has some more pull than he really does. He's making the role look like it means something now, AND he's also playing to the hands of the fans with personal pot shots at WWE and Jarrett at the same time.
Unless they seriously step in and water down what he's doing already, this could be a very good thing to happen for TNA

Well, i only heard of Cornette through the Internet and the WWE Home Videos. So casual fans, of my age probably haven't heard of him. That's my point.

Not to be a dick or anything... but a little research could do some people wonders. As far as managers go, I'd say he was highly underrated and all because of where he was for most of his career. He stuck mainly to the south and NWA territories and so thats why some "casual" fans who only watched WWE or only watched wrestling when it was popular in the 90's don't know him. Of course he's had a few stints with the WWE at a couple of points but they were hardly needed.
I'd say this guy is right up there with the likes of Bobby the Brain Hennan as far as helping people reach a star level point in the area they were in.
