I didn't see any news reports about this. If you go to TNAWrestling.com, on their main page it has a picture of Kurt and announces that TNA has signed him.
I hope that TNA knows what they are getting into. Kurt shouldn't be wrestling for at least 6 months. But I have to admit that now there can be some dream matches. Kurt vs Daniels, Kurt vs AJ, Kurt vs Somoa Joe. Kurt vs Sting. But you know that he will be thrown into the Jeff Jarrett drama..

I was watching the ppv, and I have to say that I was totally shocked. They fooled everyone, and did it well.
I think Angle being signed will help. As a wrestling fan, I'm excited. But, as a human being, I'm kind've disgusted. Angle is known for being in poor health, having emotional and psychological problems recently, and was hooked on pain medication. To sign a guy like that without giving him his leave is downright pathetic.
But, TNA has officially fired what I look at as "the first shot". It's very exciting, cause this could start another war.

Maybe they's give Kurt a while before he has a match, to rest himself up, and hype up that first one back even more.

Could be. Espeically is Angle had a no-compete clause. Depending on the time (it's either 90 days or 6 months), it could be a while.

Angle's in TNA now?
This is huge!

I don't believe that he has a 90 day compete clause. Cause if you think about it, there have been wrestlers that TNA has picked up from the wwe that has the 90 day compete clause. They didn't even show their face in TNA till that ran out.
Best example of the 90 day clause would be Matt Hardy. TNA would had picked him up the very second that WWE fired him if not for that clause. They could had easily signed him and then had him do promos and what not. Just to hype his signing. Or Raven. He had to wait till his clause was up to move over to TNA. When Raven was released from WCW way back when, they stuck him with a no compete clause. He ended up going back to ECW till it ran out, then he was able to move over to WWE.
If Angle had a no compete clause in his release, WWE would have their lawyers filing paperwork to keep Angle from showing up on IMPACT when it moves to 2 hours. If TNA was smart, they would hold off on having his first match for a while.
I just hope that TNA/Spike Tv isn't so obsessed with beating the WWE that they are willing to risk the healthy of Kurt Angle to achieve that goal. But if anything this new schedule will benefit Kurt far better then the WWE schedule did. No longer working 5 days a week he will work 2 days a month plus ppv. that will mean less wear and tear on the body.

It isn't TNA risking his health it's Angle himself. No one is holding a sawed off shotgun to his head and saying "sign this contract and wrestle or else...", it's simply his choice. The man is good at what he does and he needs to make money. Everyone does. And whether or not this turns to be another Eddie Guerrero later this year remains to be seen. TNA is going to let Angle juice, and what steroids do is heal your body faster for the moment. His athletic, yet brutal style of wrestling requires a quick recovery and in TNA he'll have room for that. Interesting to see how this pans out, but like Stare mentioned, from an entertainment standpoint, it's great. Maybe I'll start watching again. But from a real life standpoint, it's pure shitheadedness.

Well in a way TNA is risking his health. When a addict reaches rock bottom, thats when he realizes that he needs to make changes in his life. That is how it should had been with Kurt. Realizing that his dependency on Pain Killers cost him the things that he loved most in this world, his family and wrestling, should had been reality slapping him in the face and making him realize that he needed to get clean. Hard to do that when you have TNA coming along with a bagful of money and going "here come wrestle for us and we will give you all this money".
Its that plus Kurt's own desire to be considered the best that there ever was. And what better way to prove that then to take a company that isn't even considered a threat to the old WCW and make them greater then the WWE? Kurt will push his body to achieve his goal.
But I am gonna sound like a hypocrite. But I will more then likely end up watching just to see Kurt. And that is what TNA is hoping for. They know that Kurt has millions of fans who will tune in to see him whenever they can. Plus they will see him have some of the greatest matches in TNA.
Kurt Angle vs Petey Williams Kurt Angle vs Senshi Kurt Angle vs Christopher Daniels Kurt Angle vs A.J. Styles Kurt Angle vs Rhyno Kurt Angle vs Christian Kurt Angle vs Ron Killings Kurt Angle vs Sting Kurt Angle vs Jeff Jarrett
and the one that the whole IWC and regular fans are looking forward to....
Kurt Angle vs Samoa Joe...

Doesn't TNA go Primetime in November? I really doubt Kurt will enter a ring until then, to be honest...

They are scheduled to go primetime November 16th according to their website. And you're probably right, Reece, he may not actually wrestle until the Nov. 19th PPV, most likely against Jarrett or whomever the current champion is at the time (most likely Jarrett). This is huge though, I haven't visited TNA's website since March. Kurt Angle's big moves is definitely going to shake the industry, and that is just what the industry needs right now: Some shaking. The last time we got a shocker similar to this is when the NWO showed up in the WWE and when Hogan turned heel to join the NWO in '97. Hopefully Angle's little move influences the Edge's and Benoit's and others who have gotten the short end of the stick lately. It makes sense now why WWE gave in to JBL's demands so quickly.

Wow! This is huge. I love it but i also feel bad. No need to go into it, though, as you all feel the same way.
But, I do think that Angle will wrestle at Bound For Glory. I mean, it's their biggest show of the year and what better way to increase buy rates than have the most popular wrestler wrestle in a big match. Angle Vs. Joe would be awesome, but i doubt they'd go for the big money match straight away.

Keith, in a no compete clause, you are not allowed to show up to another organization's show. Kurt Angle didn't show up, he appeared in a video package, which is apparently not against the clause.
Then again, Kurt signed a new contract years back, and there might not have been a no-compete clause in his contract.
What I think will piss Vince off is that WWE payed him beyond his 90-day no-compete clause becuase they were sure he would return, and he apparently siad he would (since it was referred to as "buying him out"), and now he's got that money and he's signed with another company.
But, also, WWE fired Kurt. So, it'll be interesting to hear what people in the WWE think of this.

I don't feel anything bad for this. Kurt Angle going to TNA is great, if they're going to scoop up almost every wwe reject, then it's great that they scooped up someone that actually matters. Angle is a huge name, and he can actually wrestle, TNA is a great place for him. It's new, swimming with great young talent that he can work with, and just about no one to hold him down.
It's Angle's choice to throw his body around. If he wants to destroy himself then that's his prerogative, I'm sure he or some one else will stop him from going crazy with it. I say this is good for Angle, good for TNA, and most importantly good for wrestling fans everywhere.

There is that (rather stupid) rumour floating around that Vince actually wants Kurt to show up in TNA, since the workload will be less painful for him, and TNA will be able to compete with WWE, and bring out the best in Vince once again.

It may be a stupid rumour, but it oculd also be a genius move, as nothing brings the best out of a product like a good competitor.

Yeah, but I dont see Vince doing that.
Anyways, I meant to say that I do like the slogan TNA has put out. "Our ring has 6 sides, but only one Angle"

But yeah, I do like the slogan, very catchy. I'm not sure on "It's Real, It's Damn Real", if that replaces "It's True, It's Damn True". Not the same mix. And they need to get his entrance music just right, since WWE gave him the perfect entrance theme.

IMO, the only people that have entrance themes that fits them perfectly are Christian Cage, Abyss, and Petey Williams.
I hate TNA's entrance themes' for the most part.
Anyways, Kurt Angle's comments on the departure and signing. credit: lordsofpain.net
“Being with TNA feels like I have finally found my home. I had fun in WWE at certain times, but I was never really happy. Now being a part of TNA, I know I have a purpose. I feel like I am part of history, part of a company that is not only on the rise – not only going to be the number-one watched wrestling show in the world within a short period of time – but TNA gives me an opportunity to spread my wings. This company has no limits to where it can go. The sky is the limit and the main reason is because they brought the “real” back into wrestling and that is a perfect fit for the greatest wrestler in USA Olympic history. I have room to grow here and to help TNA grow. Working for these caring and very giving employers of TNA makes me feel like I have a purpose and that the sky is the limit. I don’t feel trapped or held back like I did the first six years in my tenure with the other company. They held me back. Now, our wonderful audience will see the real Kurt Angle doing what I love to do – real wrestling – and that’s what puts a smile on my face each time I come to work. I even smile when I think about it. TNA will be the most watched television show on cable television. It’s only a matter of time. Now, I get the opportunity and privilege of being a part of it. Thank you TNA for saving my career, my life and my desire to do what I love. I will be here in some capacity for the rest of my life. That’s real…that’s damn real.” – Kurt Angle
----------------------------------
It sounds to me like Kurt Angle had much more of an ego than I thought. I think he has the mindset that he needs to be at the top of the company and needs to stay there. While, to his credit, he probably is the best active wrestler in the world today.
Anyways, I question the motive of a guy who's had 6 title runs, but still thinks the company held him back. He is almost sounding like Bret Hart.
I honestly think Kurt Angle's MAIN motive (he mentioned it above) is that he is a very competitve guy, and wants to be the reason TNA makes it big and wants to make the company be the best wrestling company and most watched. If that's the cause, good luck Kurt.

This pisses me off most of all... ECW finally comes to my town in October and I get the slight bit of hapiness that Angle resigns ...but it's to TNA
I think Angle could do wonders for TNA don't get me wrong, IMO the man in a legend of his time..I guess I just think TNA isn't ready for him.
When I watch TNA, I watch it for something different.. Something like Ultimate X or something along the lines of Petey Williams I don't watch it for straight up wrestling with a mix of technicality and a mix of dirty tactics.. Maybe this is just me, but I think Kurt Angle might have to sculpt his character a bit differentley. I always though ECW and WWE gave Angle a blend that fit well..I don't know, maybe we'll see.

As I recall, the overall house show product generally steps it up a notch in the fall. And since St. Louis is rich with pro wrestling history, they may turn it up a notch and you may be in for a decent show.
