I agree, game has made a masterpeice in the documentary, Dream is a fanastic song.
I will be getting my anger management withing the next couple of weeks, cant fucking wait ;D
Massacre was a good album, no way as good as get rich or die trying though, speaking of that title, if you watched the mtv movie awards you would have seen some short clips to 5o's up coming movie, get rich or die trying, based loosely on his life before fame, much like 8 mile was, i cannot wait to see that.

Not dissing the current talent out there but hip-hop has been watered down and is in a state of emergency. I must be getting old because I find myself listening to a lot of retro from the late eighties/early nineties.
Some retro hip hop CDs I would recommend to anyone looking to get a bit more interested in hip-hop are:
1. The Predator by Ice Cube. Good from start to finish. Very few hip hop artists can boast such an album.
2. Fear Of A Black Planet by Public Enemy. This is album made me respect P.E.; like myself, they are not afraid of controversy and will speak their mind regardless of who gets offended.
3. Lethal Injection by Ice Cube. It's like Predator Part II and Ice Cube breaks out some creativity by trying new things. He transformed from hard core racist to well-rounded hip hop entertainer.
4. The Chronic by Dr. Dre featuring Snoop. If you likes N.W.A., you'll like this work of art.
5. Anything by A Tribe Called Quest as their style was in a class of its own.
More to come....

i agree that is has been watered down, so to speak, and i do still listen to my older stuff, chronic, doggystyle and some old nas and jay-z.
however, i do think that people like the game and kanye are keeping it going

I can't stand Kanye West.
I think a lot of what's out there now is bubblegum hip-hop; it's watered down shit made to suit national radio play and advertising. In other words, it's thrown together and isn't from the heart.
I have to agree with you about old Nas tracks. I use to think Nas (and Jay-Z) were the best when it came to lyrical flow and all around skillz on the mic.
Word.

To me, Nas is still the best.
Fave retro hip-hop CDs..... 1. Wu-Tang Clan - Enter the Wu-Tang. Something gritty and grimey for the street folk, yet it also bears a certain kind of creativity not found on many CDs period. 2. Nas - Illmatic. This CD gets in your blood, it's like a virus. You'll have an ear for good hip-hop after this, quite possibly the best hip-hop album EVER recorded. 3. Public Enemy - Fear of a Black Planet. E2 said it best. 4. NWA - Efil4Zaggin (Niggaz 4 Life). Controversy sells, they had a big hand in changing the landscape of hip-hop and showcasing the rougher times of the late 80s in LA. 5. Redman - Dare iz a Darkside. Redman made it cool to be funny and vulgar at the same time on record, without his style there would be no Eminem and D12.

Opening with Bring Da Ruckus sets the unique style of the entire album: Fierce, strong and lyrically intelligent. Da Mystery of Chessboxin' is one of my personal favorites. During the track, Mr. Russell Jones (God rest his crackheaded soul) gets off. She shows he can flow with the best of them when given the time. And in Tearz Bobby Digital tells a story of hardship while combining the unique styles of the Shaolin and the Wu-Tang with the universal reggae. Definitely a keeper for any serious hip hop fan.

Speaking of Wu-Tang....
FROM HIPHOPGAME.COM
WuTangCorp.com, Wu-Tang's official website, gives us some news about the future Wu Releases:
First of all, the long awaited and most anticipated 5th Ghostface album is finally taking form. So far 18 songs have been recorded. Producers include MF Doom, Louis Parker, Wisemen, Pete Rock and Nottz. The RZA is also scheduled to contribute beats to the album at a later stage. The album will include a song featuring the entire Wu-tang Clan including vocals by the late Ol' Dirty Bastard [RIP], as well as a song featuring Ghostface's son by the name of Sun God. Ghost says he's happy at Def Jam and has described his relationship with Jay-Z (current President of the Island Def Jam Group] as a very inspiring and supportive one. The album is tentavily scheduled for a release in September, but most likely to change. Ghostface will also release a volume 2 to his '718' compilation on Koch Records later this year.
Raekwon's ten year anniversary sequel to the classic 'Only Built 4 Cuban Linx' is also in the making. Recently a song called 'Baggage Handlers' featuring Busta Rhymes leaked out to the net and was rumored to be produced by The RZA, a claim The RZA and Raekwon both denied. Not much is released about possible featurings and production, but it is confirmed that Dr. Dre has produced 2 songs for 'Cuban Linx 2' and The RZA is also scheduled to contribute heavily to the album. Raekwon has also recorded songs for the following albums by Jagged Edge, Lil' John and 8Ball & MGM.
GZA/Genius confirmed he finished his vocal parts for the tentavily untitled album he recorded with DJ Muggs of Cypress Hill. The album, which has not been given a title nor release date, will feature about 12 to 13 songs. GZA/Genius also has a mixtape being released on Babygrande in October which will feature much 'family' as he described it, as well as a minimum of four new solo songs. The 'Wu-Tang Revealed' DVD is currently on hold due to time restrictions and a longstanding editing process. New footage will be added to the final edit. No word on its release date.
Finally, The RZA who has confirmed forming Wu-Tang Latino, has been working immensly on the fourth Method Man album. Not much is known about the album except that both RZA and Meth are working hard and are being extremely picky on quality. RZA has also recently done an interview with Scratch Magazine tentavily for an August issue of the popular producer/DJ Magazine.

I'm curious to see what Raekwon has in store for us on his next CD. The nigga can flow.
As for Method Man, I lost interest back after Tical because it didn't live up to all the hype and it seemed to be only about Method Man. Whereas the rest of the Wu make sure they incorporate many other members in their singles.

Ghostface Killah and ABK sound so much alike each other, it's kinda weird. Wu Tang is one of the few rap acts I like but that RZA is a king.

Something of interest....
NEW YORK, NY--(MARKET WIRE)--Jun 6, 2005 -- KOCH Records is proud to announce a new marketing services deal with the mighty D-Block records. The label, home to Sheek Louch, Jadakiss, Styles P and J-Hood, will release several full-length albums and mix-tapes under the KOCH fold.
The label D-Block was created by Sheek Louch with lifelong friends, Styles P and Jadakiss. J-Hood is the newest member to enter the fold. The first release on D-Block was Sheek Louch's 2003 debut album, "Walk Witt Me," which sold over 250,000 units.
Sheek Louch, Styles P and Jadakiss were members of The Lox, the Yonkers-based group who were a backbone of Sean "Puffy" Combs' Bad Boy label. Hired as writers, the trio wrote and performed on Comb's "I Got The Power," and "It's All About the Benjamins," Mase's "24 Hrs. to Live," the Notorious B.I.G.'s "Last Day," Mary J. Blige's "Can't Get You Off My Mind," and many others.
The Lox released their debut album, "Money, Power & Respect" in 1998 -- it reached #3 on the Billboard Top 200 Charts. To date, The Lox has sold 1.7 million albums.
Alan Grunblatt, General Manager and Executive Vice President of KOCH Records, says, "D-Block is the hottest label on the street. Everyone is talking about Jadakiss, Styles P and Sheek. We are thrilled to have their label on board here at KOCH."

But for some reason he always stayed at the forefront of the group. Even when it's him & Redman, Method gets all the attention but Redman's flow is much sicker than Method's.

I'd give Ghostface a close second, but Raekwon had the best album of the Wu single projects.

GZA can flow tho'.
But throw on your headphones and listen to the Clan In Tha Front track from the Enter the 36 Chambers CD and listen to Labels from Liquid Swords and feel the lyrical poison.
No doubt Raekwon and Ghost can flow, but the Genius is just that for good reason.

Yeah, Gza got flow, but Raekwon & Ghostface have always been my favorites, and ODB before he went totally crazy.

They are all ill.... and Herc is correct, Raekwon's 'Only Built 4 Cuban Linx' is regarded by most as hip-hop classic material... not to say 'Liquid Swords', 'Ironman' and 'Supreme Clientele' weren't dope albums though...
NEXT QUESTION:
Who is the best rhyming storyteller out right now?

ok gents, i went to see the game on sunday and i have to say he is fucking awesome! he came on stage wearing a g-unot t-shirt which was promptly thrown to the crowd he kicked the show off with a couple of freestyles, basically dissing the other members of g-unit including olivia, he claims she has a dick ;D he then broke out a couple of tracks from the documentary, before challenging someone from the crowd to outdrink him, i threw my hands up like a fucking crazy man, i was only 3 rows from the front and as god as my witness, plus dickie can confirm this too, the game points at me and says "the big guy in the blue hat, get your ass on stage", however he then noticed that i was wearing a g-unit t-shirt and promptly told sercurity to get the lad in front of me instead, i was proper fuming, but i dont think i could have drank what he had planned, so its all good. the lad got on stage and was ordered to spray the crowd with champagne, 4 bottles were sprayed all over everyone, i was soaked, but here is the best bit of the drinking game, the game then gets 4 bottles of hennessy and passes 2 of them to the lad, he then tells the lad to neck them as quickly as possible, the poor lad struggles and barely drank one in the time it took game to neck both bottles, the lad was then treated to the rest of the show from a chair on the stage. the show continued and he hit a few more songs from the album, he got really emotional during one song and there were tears rolling down the games face as he was rapping away, a very strange site indeed game then started chatting to the crowd and saying how much he loved manchester, he got huge pops for saying that shit! hahaha. but some fuckarse in the front row was heckling him and started flipping him off so the game told him to fuck off back to retardville, so the lad spat at him, the game spat back and one of his sercurity grabbed the game and took him to the back of the stage, the lad was dragged from the concert within seconds. game then laid into g-unit again, giving his version of why he has been kicked out again, he claims its because he has blown quicker than all the other members and the documentary is the best album out of all the g-unit released albums, thats something i actually agree with, with the possible exception of 'get rich' he then did a few more songs and called it a night. i came this (.....) close to catching his hat too, i would have loved it, it was nice! now roll on september for the anger managment tour, oh yeah

Nice shit.... Anyway, got this from another board. 50 Cent 'Piggybank' Video article w/ images. For a record considered to be just a warning shot, 50 Cent's "Piggy Bank" continues to have the largest ripple effect of any rap song this year. Last week Nas finally responded to the cut, and this week 50 issued a video mixtape that includes a full-length clip for the song. The video is animated and starts with three boys walking down "Beaver Street" when one of them stops at an arcade. The kid is infatuated with a game called "Rapper Knockout," which stars 50 Cent as a ring king beating opponents to a pulp. The video then takes a look inside the video game as 50 squares off against Fat Joe. The animated Joe is afraid to go the ring at first, and gets pummeled when he finally enters. The same fate holds true for an animated Jadakiss, which Fif imagines dressed up like a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle — complete with Raphael's red mask and a slice of pizza — wearing a belt with a buckle that says "Jada." Later, 50 depicts Game as a Mr. Potato Head doll with a "Wanksta" headband and Cassidy as a young kid wearing a pink hoodie with "I'm a Hustler" embroidered on it. Cass gets punched in the stomach by two kids. In a separate scene, another kid is seen wearing Superman's tights and cape while running down the street. Instead of the Man of Steel's S, he has a red logo of Nas' name on his chest and is chasing a "Milkshake" truck before jumping at the vehicle and falling flat on his face. Images From 50 Cent's "Piggy Bank" Video CASS GAME JADA NAS "Piggy Bank" is one of 21 videos slated to be included in a special-edition reissue of The Massacre, which is due on September 6 (see "50 Says He Doesn't Have Beef With Game"). Fif has made a video for every song on his album (the original version of "Outta Control" will be replaced with the Mobb Deep remix) including "Gunz Come Out," in which plenty of heavy artillery will be brandished, and "In My Hood," which shows Fif waking through the neighborhood. 50 has a real video game called "Bulletproof," which has nothing to do with his rap beef, due on November 15. This coming Tuesday 50 will release his autobiography, "From Pieces to Weight." In the meantime, Fif continues to travel the country as part of the Anger Management 3 Tour (see "Eminem, 50, Lil Jon, G-Unit, D12 Team Up For Anger Management 3 Tour This Summer"). He'll perform for the first time at Madison Square Garden in his hometown on Monday and Tuesday. For more on 50 Cent, be sure to check out exclusive excerpts from his upcoming autobiography, "From Pieces to Weight." — Shaheem Reid This is funny, but 50 might get shot, which is disconcerting, to say the least.
