EDGE IS THE CHAMP!!! ;D

I can actually see Edge having a very lengthy title run over on Smackdown. Something he wouldn't had been able to do over on Raw.
Now what I would do if I was booking Smackdown would be this: Kennedy is going to be out till about the Rumble. Have him make his return at the Royal Rumble. Let him win the Rumble. Edge is still the champ. He decides to face Edge at Wrestlemania for the belt. Kennedy still gets his title shot at Mania and there is already history between him and Edge from what happened this past Monday Night.

What a waste. All this really did was solidify that Smackdown was the more useless of the two brands because they had a Raw guy go through their supposed "best" on consecutive shows. I boo this decision to the very depths of hell. Edge is nothing more than glorified "meh" served on a silver platter, because theres nobody else that was worth a shit.
WWE showing once again that they never have a backup plan on throw out harsh decisions to cover their asses. Craptastic.

Well, Kennedy was their back up plan. But he got injured.
It's great. They have an excellent feud waiting for them. Kennedy can turn face and really get a big following. Then he wins the Royal Rumble and gets to face Edge at Mania. Excellent storyline right there. Yeah, basically what Keith said.

Kennedy's injury has been misdiagnosed. It wasn't a complete tear. He'll be out for 6-8 weeks instead of 6-8 months. Which is a good thing

Making this even more of a waste. Edge is still glorified meh, served on a silver platter because the WWE fails to realize that they have plenty of people on their roster with just as much overall ability... but just won't utilize it because they forgot how to build a credible contender without some whacky ass gimmick match or because he's just a freak.
What you are failing to realize is that this is the WWE. Kennedy is only out for 2 months at a maximum... meaning, they will pull the trigger on Kennedy/Edge at Summerslam. And then run the fucker into the ground until you can't stand it anymore into Wrestlemania, making a Wrestlemania match between the two completely ridiculous at that point. Much in the same fashion they did with Cena on Raw. Now that I mention it, Raw is going to now be centered around a feud that I will not be able to stand at all... if Khali is going to continue being pushed like this.
I swear, WWE needs to stop picking what show they like best and just run solid programming on both, and we wouldn't run into bullshit decision making such as what we're currently being force fed on a weekly basis.

Why didn't they just utilize the talent they have?
They did that when they threw the World Title on JBL - they had nobody else to give it to at the time. Turned out that, over time, JBL didn't do a bad job and brought his character along pretty well.
Give the damn belt to Finlay and let him stiff everyone over until one of these guys heal up.

Once RVD leaves, they'll give CM Punk a mega push. If only to give ECW a shred of credibility before they pull the plug.

Now watch him get buried to death in the meantime.
And watch Sabu and Sandman quickly follow.
