I was just going through my collection of matches a while ago, and i was trying to decide which of these, if i had to, i would delete and which i would keep. This got me thinking into which are my favourites. And so then i wondered what everyone elses' were. Seeing as these are pretty much the basis of why we are wrestling fans, and why this board exist, i thought it would be worth it to make a thread to see which matches you enjoyed.
So, I'll state a name of a wrestler and then everyone can share their favourite matches, with a reason (long or short), and maybe start a discussion. I'm sure some people *cough*Eco*cough* would have totally different matches in mind than others, so it'll be interesting to see why they chose their choice.
Start off with: Kurt Angle

my favourite match with the wrestling machine would have to be his matches with Austin. Now we all know that Austin is not the greatest 'wrestler' around, which is why i enjoyed them so much, it was like Kurt was picking apart Austin, where as Austin would just lash out at Kurt.
This was the same with Cena but Kurt was alot more aggressive with Cena, and i loved watching Kurt take abart Cena. Of course i was pissed when Cena won the match's but still, you cant have everything.
Its going to be a sad day when Kurt calls it a day in the near future, well thats if he does.

i love kurt angle and his matches with lesner were awesome!
as for kurt retiring, imo he should cos he will be crippled sooner rather than later if he continues, but i cannot see it happening in the near future

GOD BLESS ALADDIN FOR THIS THREAD!! Way to keep this board alive playa......
This may sound a bit crazy, but I actually enjoyed the series of matches Angle had with Triple H in 2000, during the "Stephanie may be cheating on Hunter" storyline. This would include the trips threat with the Rock at SummerSlam and the one on one at Unforgiven.
Now they weren't scientific matches or even template ones at that, but the storyline was an interesting one and Angle was still trying to prove himself. Meanwhile Hunter was in the midst of being "The Man" (because Austin was out) and they seemed to kick it up a notch. I sincerely believe it was the credibility of this feud, as well Angle taking that nasty table bump at SS and then RETURNING to finish the match, that led to WWE management putting the WWE Championship on Angle so soon.

My favorite match from Kurt Angle would have to be Kurt Angle vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin for the WWE Title at Summerslam 2001. I loved the match, the back-and-forth action, and how the two worked off of each other.
I also really enjoyed his match this year at No Way Out with The Undertaker. That match alone was worth the ppv

Kurt Angle vs. Shawn Michaels Wrestlemania 21, best match I've ever seen in my life.

I have a few:
WM 2000 - Kurt Angle Vs. Chris Jericho Vs. Chris Benoit
I didn't think this was as good as it could have been but i loved the concept. Two falls match, first fall - IC title on the line, second fall - Euro title on the line. It was an excellent story. Angle lost both titles but wasn't pinned. Great first Mania for all of these guys.
King of the Ring 2001 - StreetFight - Kurt Angle Vs. Shane MchMahon
What an amazing match. The build up to this match was outstanding, Shane O'Mac and Kurt are great entertainers. This has a great story to it. It was at King of the Ring, his second, Shane interfered in the semi-final to help him so that he had to wrestle another match, therefore making him a bit more tired. In the final of the tournament Shane interefered and cost him the victory. Angle was obviously pissed off and he carried that into their match. It was really vicous and Angle really beat the crap out of Shane. He even German Suplexed him through the KOTR glass. Amazing.
Summerslam 2000 - Kurt Angle Vs. The Rock vs. HHH
I also enjoyed the storyline for this. It was very entertaining, and kinda weird to have the champion as a thrid wheel in it. I just recently rewatched this one. The Rock took his time to come out, almost ten miuntes after Kurt and HHH. That table spot was nasty, and it took guts for Kurt to come back out after that.
Wrestlemania X-Seven - Kurt Angle Vs. Chris Benoit
Great techincal match, but not their best. Really showed the world what mat wrestling was.
Backlash 2001 - Ultimate Submission - Kurt Angle Vs. Chris Benoit
One of my favourite gimick matches. Thirty minutes of submission wrestling, person with the most submssion falls, wins. Kurt really showed a great variety of moves, as did Benny boy.
Judgement Day 2001 - 3 Stage of Hell - Kurt Angle Vs. Shane MchMahon
I think this was their final match in this little series. I love anything with a ladder in it, and these two sure did produce. They were feuding over Kurt's gold medals that Benoit stole. Sick ass match.
Royal Rumble 2003 - Kurt Angle Vs. Shane MchMahon
This one was a few years later. I think it's their best match. One of the best techincal matches ever. Just amazing. MOTY.
Summerslam 2001 - Kurt Angle Vs. Stone Cold
Best Summerslam match ever. It should have been the main event, but was second last on the card before Booker Vs. Rock. Kurt never gave up, kept going. He was so fucking intense, he looked crazy. He put on an amazing brawl here. He even broke out his moonsault, which is probably the best in the business.
WM XIX - Kurt Angle Vs. Brock Lesnar
With a fucking broken neck, he put on an amazing main event match, which was very cleverly done. The Story going into this was that Brock had injured his ribs and so Kurt worked away at them for the whole match, pretty much grounding Brock. This was also the match with the infamous botched Shooting Star Press. Kurt even took 3 F5 with a broken neck. Crazy!
Summerslam 2003 - Kurt Angle Vs. Brock Lesnar
I loved this match a lot. It wasn't as good as the Mania match but for some reason it felt like it was. Brock recently turned heel and he was going into this as the much stronger monster, but Kurt opened up the match humiliating him, getting the better of him. Eventually Brock got in control but Kurt got the win with the ankle lock, and then gave Vinnie Mac an Angle Slam through a steel chair which was so sick looking.
Wrestlemania XX- Kurt Angle Vs. Eddie Guerrero
Great Technical dream match. Kurt started to show his agressive side during this match, totally dominating Eddie, kicking out of the frog splash. He had total control of the match and was absolutely killing Eddie until Guerrero outsmarted him and cheated to win, in an excellent and unique finish. My fave match of theirs.
Backlash 2002 - Kurt Angle Vs. Edge
This has to be one of Edge's best singles matches. I think these two work really well, because at the time they were total opposites. It was a nice fast paced, fun match.
WM 21 - Kurt Angle Vs. Shawn Michaels
I think this match is way over rated to be honest. It's good but not amazing. Both of them have had better matches. However this was still great. Good technical match. Nice finish, and i'm glad it was clean.
No Way Out 2006 - Kurt Angle Vs. The Undertaker
This match could have headlined Mania. I'm pretty sure it'll be better than both main events. These two are great techincally and they showed as some amazing counters.
No Mercy 2003- Kurt Angle & Chris Benoit Vs. Rey Mysterio & Edge
Amazing tag match to crown the first ever Smackdown WWE Tag Champs. This was one of the best tag matches ever. Fast paced, atheletic, counters, techincals, mat, aerial. It had everything. Sick ass match.
And there are many more matches that were great.

My favorite match from Kurt Angle would have to be Kurt Angle vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin for the WWE Title at Summerslam 2001. I loved the match, the back-and-forth action, and how the two worked off of each other. I agree that it was a decent 'bout, but DQ finishes at PPV's (especially for World Titles) is ultra lame.

While I agree E2, some times it could be used to advance feuds. But other times it could just be used to end a shitty match [JBL/Batista at GAB for example].

Yeah DQs suck ass. Especially the one in the Angle/ Austin match. That was so anti-clilmatic.

Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michales at Mania 19 was my favorite match of his. That was a great match, a good story with it, and I loved the way Jericho ended it with a low blow.

I have to say my favorite Jericho match was Vengance 2001, when he had his match against Stone Cold Steve Austin. I liked the match because it was the only match by my watch that had the WCW champion going up against the WWF champion. The signifigance alone is impresssive. I'm still suprised how underrated and forgotten that match was.

^Actually that match has been forgotton because it wasn't good and because the ending to it was crappy for the reward of that claibur. They rushed into unifying the belts in my mind. And it wasn't WCW champ Vs. WWF champ. It was WWF champ Vs. World Champ by that time. Royal Rumble 2003 - Kurt Angle Vs. Shane MchMahonThis one was a few years later. I think it's their best match. One of the best techincal matches ever. Just amazing. MOTY. Sorry to correct LT, that post was amazing, but it was Chris Benoit who faced Angle at Royal Rumble 2003. Sorry again. Whoops. You're right. Accident. Thanks for pointing that out. Cheers LK.

assuming we're not within WWE boundaries, I'd have to say that my favorite Chris Jericho matches came in WCW against Dean Malenko. The storyline was pretty good and the wrestling involved during the feud was pretty grand as well. The man of 1,000 holds vs. The man of 1,004 holds. Gold.
Now if its WWE stuff, Jericho vs. Triple H for the title... the one where Jericho was then later screwed and the match scratched from the books from Raw, that was a good match with a solid crowd. It made you feel for Jericho too, when the match was later determined to "Never have happened."

Before you start over-analyzing, and start to say how "little skill was involved", ignore the quality of the match, and instead concentrate on the signifigance. Was there any other match that had the World Heavyweight Champion, and the WWE Champion fighting against eachother?

Damn, I forgot about that match. That was an awesome match.
Also, I believe it was at Unforgiven 2003, but Jericho vs. Christian vs. RVD in a triple threat for the Intercontinental Title was also a great match

Before you start over-analyzing, and start to say how "little skill was involved", ignore the quality of the match, and instead concentrate on the signifigance. Was there any other match that had the World Heavyweight Champion, and the WWE Champion fighting against eachother? Okay, i get your point. However, for a match with such significance they should have tried to make it a tremendous, unforgettable match. Except for Kurt Angle, Jericho and Austin were probably the best workers in the company at that time, so it shouldn't have been too difficult. The way the match turned out, made it seems like any other match, there wasn't anything that made the match seem like something important in history. As for my fave Jericho Matches: Jericho Vs. HHH on Raw - just like Reaps said it was a great match and it was a shame that it never counted. Ladder Match - Jericho Vs. Benoit - IMO this is the best ladder match ever. I absolutely loved it. Amazing. Jericho Vs. Shawn Michaels - Dream match. All of it was great etc. Jericho giving HBK a low blow was great. Jericho Vs. The Rock - No Mercy 2001 & Royal RUmble 2002 - These two always work well together. Last Man Standing - Jericho Vs. HHH - I thought this match made Y2J a main eventer. He held his own against the best wrestler in the business at that time. Anything with Benoit TLC 3 - Jericho & Benoit Vs. E&C Vs. The Hardyz Vs. Dudleys - Best TLC ever. Althought the story of the match was Benoit going through that table and alsmot killing himself, and despite that coming back and winning the match for the team, I think Jericho did most of the work in this one as he took crazy bumps too but kept on going. Jericho & Benoit Vs. Austin & HHH - Although this will be remembered for HHH tearing his quad. It was an excellent match. One of the best tag matches ever. Anything With Kurt Angle

Jericho vs Rock (rumble 02)
Jericho vs HBK (WM19)[/b] I loved this match, just awsome.
Jericho in the chamber matches He has made most of them great.
Jericho in the Money in the Bank I watch this match over and over. I think it was really good.
Jericho vs Cena vs Christian (Vengance 05 This match was really great to watch, fast paced and exciting. A triple threat done well!
Jericho vs Cena (SummerSlam 05) Fact, jericho is the only person to make Cena look good. And it was in this match. This could have been MOTY last year IMO. But it was a shame to see Jericho go when he was on such good form!

my favorite feuds with Jericho were Rock, Cena, and pretty much anyone. He was great, and i think it was a bad career movefor him to go with that thing he calls a band and leave WWE for a while. Anyone know when hes comin back?

He like not being on the road, so it'll probably be a while. I'm pretty sure he'll return sometime. Hopefully to TNA.
Anyway, NEW WRESTLER:
Chris Benoit
Doesn't have to be limited to WWE (for any of the wrestlers)

In this case I have to choose wrestlemania 20, in his match against HBK and HHH. Sure it may not be extreme as his other matches, but again the signifigance of the match for his career. Not only he won the WHC, but both HHH and HBK put him over at wrestlemania.
