You could see the Chargers choke coming a mile away. I think I called that on one of the previous pages during a brief "exchange" with Blademaster JT.
But Scream is looking more and more the genius as the playoffs continue with his prediction of New Orleans going all the way.

to be fair yesterday both games going to OT showed that all 4 teams were willing to give it all to go through, but the play action that set up the TD then the 2 point PAT by Brady showed the difference between the pats and the chargers.

Brady should be thanking the football Gods that he came out of that aftrer 3 interceptions. I like it when the underdogs win because it makes for interesting games down the stretch. NO ONE thought Indy and New England would be where they are right now. part of me is rooting for Indianapolis, just so they can get that "choke reputation" monkey off their backs. And after Tony Dungy's tumultuous year last year with the suicide death of his son, what better a reward than the Vince Lombardi.

to be fair thou, do you not think that the people of NO deserve a little bit of pride back more than 1 man?
I am not having a go and i understand what you say, but personally i think that a whole state could be helped to heal rather than 1 man

The people of New Orleans got their pride back long before the football season began. With all the rebuilding efforts and the spirit that was shown over the summer, there are no doubts about that. But I do see where you are coming from and know that the area could benefit financially if the Saints carry this thing out.

Maybe we'll get two Black coaches in the SuperBowl for the first time ever.

Which we did, and its about time, I think its fitting that Tony Dungy and lovie smith are the coaches to do it. They have never came out and moaned when they were passed over for much, much less qualified white coaches, they just continued with there jobs in a quite, dignified manner.
According to the bookies they are giving the colts a 6.5 / 7 point margin to win but I personally think the bears will follow through from the regular season with grossman doing just enough to win while Urlacker and co hold Peyton to IMO under 25 points.

PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. (AP) -- Nine months pregnant and married to a fervent Bears fan with tickets to Sunday's NFC Championship game, Colleen Pavelka didn't want to risk going into labor during the game against the New Orleans Saints.
Due to give birth on Monday, Pavelka's doctor told her Friday she could induce labor early. She opted for the Friday delivery.
"I thought, how could [Mark] miss this one opportunity that he might never have again in his life?" said Pavelka, 28, from the southwestern Chicago suburb of Homer Glen.
At 10:45 p.m. Friday, Mark Patrick Pavelka was born at Palos Community Hospital after close to six hours of labor.
While her husband watched the Bears play the New Orleans Saints at Soldier Field Sunday, Colleen planned to watch in the hospital with the baby wrapped in a Bears blanket -- a Christmas gift from his grandmother.
The couple named Mark after his father, who wore a "Monsters of the Midway" shirt during the delivery.
"If he wasn't born by Sunday and the Bears won, I would have named him Rex," after Bears quarterback Rex Grossman, joked Mark Pavelka, 28.
Mark is the couple's second son

All I can say is this guy better get her one hell of a valentines day gift this year

After all the choking Indy's been through, all the headache, and the loss of Dungy's son, it would be fitting if they were rewarded with a victory on February 4th. The comeback last night was amazing. Down 21-3, the Colts managed to get that typical Payton-led offense going and turn it up a notch. Nobody gave them a fighting chance until now. Congrats.

Peyton isnt his brother he is capable of doing that, like the 80yrd drive to end the half, but against a younger, meaner defence like chi-town he will not get long to go through his possesions and the will crash the pocket a lot quicker than the ageing pats defence.
NE seemed to have them in the first half but as the ageing ( and some damaged ) bodies of the NE front line tired it gve Peyton a lot more time on the ball, and the offence a lot more time on the field, I cant see him getting that against the bears, the limited rushing the colts do will not get far, same as the quick screen passes. So the only thing he can do is go deep but while the pocket is being pressured and he has to make snap desecions this will be his downfall.
If memory serves did'nt he have 4 "giveaways" in the regular season to chicago? And i cant see them improving on that. The one plus point is they have a proven point scorer with superbowl experiance in Venateri and that is about all they have going for them.
Thats just this englishmans point of veiw but I cant see Indy winning

I can.
Especially after what the Colts did to the Baltimore Ravens who boasted one of the best defenses in the NFL this year. Chicago's run defense is so one dimensional that Peyton and the Colts will be able to make the proper adjustments in time and exploit it. Even if the Bears defense manages to turn it up and give the Indy offense some trouble, the Colts' D has proven they can step it up match any D, pound for pound. But I don't think that will be the case this time as a fabulous offense > a decent defense any day of the week. Couple that with the fact that Manning has waited his entire life for this very moment and only one conclusion can be made: Indy will murder Chicago.
Colts 52 Bears 17

It won't be a blowout.
More like a shootout.
A couple of quick stats:
BEARS: 1st in NFL in Takeaways/Forcing Turnovers, 2nd in NFL in Defensive Touchdowns, and 4th in the NFL in Rushing Offense.
COLTS: 1st in AFC in Total Offense, LAST in the NFL in Rushing Defense.
Offense gets the glory, Defense wins the game.
But we'll see, I like both teams, the Bears are built for a dynasty, and the Colts really deserve it now. Should be a great game.

Irregardless of the score, at least Peyton finally told the damn Patriots to shut the fuck up and get back in last place where they belong. I say Colts beat the Bears 24-21 off an Adam Vinateri field goal.

Pretty good Super Bowl last night. Even though the Colts dominated this game, at least the bears were able to keep the score close. It would had been alot worse if Hester hadn't returned the opening kick-off 92 yds for the touchdown.
I thought the colts were going to be in trouble after that. And then they get the touchdown and boggle the extra point. I was like oh oh not good. Plus near the end of the first half have "Mr Clutch" Adam Viniterri actually miss a kick, that was a shocker.
But congrats to the Colts. I didn't pick them to win it all, but its good to see them walk around with the trophy. At least now we can stop saying "Yeah Manning is a really good quarterback, but to be considered the greatest, he has to win a super bowl". Plus getting the mvp of the game cements his trip to Canton, even though his numbers have for the most part already had him going in.

Even if the Colts had lost, Manning would still be considered a Hall-of-Famer. Damn critics: They are good at starting a lot of unnecessary hype, but that's how it goes in the world of public relations.
The Colts seem to have the "SuperBowl gitters" at the beginning of the game. Combine that with the fact they are used to playing indoors and not on rainy terrain, then you see why the botched field goal and other little mistakes happened. But they seem to become more poised down the stretch offensively; the difference between having a QB the likes of Manning on your team rather than a Rex Grossman.

Now I don't get Chicago based sports talk radio, but how much time do you think they are devoting to the removal of Rex Grossman as the starting qb of the bears? I am going to go with about 95% of the time the callers are demanding the head of Rex.

That's the problem with being the QB: You get too much credit when the team wins (like Manning is getting now), but you take way too much blame when the team falters. Chicago was all special teams and defense last night, and for that, they'll want Grossman's head on a platter. They will probably site how he wasn't able to spark an offensive comeback when they needed him most. And given Chicago's QB issues all season long, Grossman's fate is pretty much sealed.
