Ok you have all gone round the houses trying to come up with a plausible reason why he could have done this. He was such a 'nice' bloke, never the sort who would do such a thing. Surely it had to be 'roid rage'. Not him, not Chris Benoit.
Bullshit
The fact is, the guy was FUCKING UNHINGED. It just took him longer to become that way, or for his 'normal' facade to fade. Either way anyone who can choke their own flesh and blood deserves to rot in hell.
He doesnt deserve a thread dedicated to him. He doesnt deserve any 'what a great wrestler' memories. He doesnt deserved to be remembered full stop.
I hope he is in pain for the rest of his eternal life and if the Admin have any bollocks they should lock this thread

I think you will find that, other than the initial posts after he died, once the truth came out, I went a 180 on this. So please remove me also from your "you guys" section
Thanking you in advance
As a by-note, if he had been exposed as a paedo, then yes I agree with you. But then again, some people could try and put that down to "roid rage" as well (not a flame)

As with I, my opinion changed towards him very quickly. So your list contains one less.
As for locking the thread, he's not being glorified and the thread isnt "dedicated" to him as such. I personally am using this thread as a way to vent my sadness and disgust at the man.

Ok then I will allow this thread to stay open...just
But if ANYONE comes on with pics of 'poor Benoit' in black and RIP or if there is one more FUCKING MENTION OF ROID RAGE can they be stricken from the rota and beaten with a birch stick?
Thank you in advance x

This thread is not a dedication, it is for prople to talk about what happened, while he was a great entertainer he also, it seems, a very "sick" man to do this. Until we get the toxicoligy reports we dont have the full story, it could be a triple murder, thereis more chance of me being the next wwe champ, but theoritcally it is possible.

I really fucking hate how some people on message boards try to stop some discussions just because they find it upsetting. This, and the possible ramifications are the biggest thing to happen to American pro wrestling in some time, it’s absurd not to discuss it.

www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19474972/McMahon calls Benoit a monster^ Also, I read today that while Benoit did have steroids in the home they mistakinly said he was part of a steroid sting. They did however say that he ordered Viagra from a Florida store that they cracked down on for the sale of roids. I'll dig up the article and post it. *I heard ever since he took the Viagra he had a stiff neck* Can I get a ba dum tish please....

not the thread for jokes Joe.
I belive they should still honour Beniot in the H.O.F as that is recognized on wrestling ability nothing more.
Now I am not a parent but I can think of nothing that would make me want to hurt any child let alone anyone my own

It's too raw to say for certain, but maybe one day we'll be able to see the definite divide between The Rabid Wolverine Chris Benoit and Christopher Michael Benoit. And if that happens, maybe what was up until 4 days ago a celebrated career, might be looked at again as regards the performer/wrestler rather than the actual man. Right now, it's merged because it's very fresh. Time will divide it eventually.
I got myself Hard Knocks: The Chris Benoit Story several months back, and up until this week, it was my favourite wrestling dvd in my collection. I picked it up yesterday and looked at the box, thinking "Can I ever watch this again?" I couldn't answer it. I put it back on the shelf. And there it will stay. Unwatched until I can answer that question and manage to divide the two personas. And if I can't, then out it goes.

To be honest I don't ever see the WWE inducting Chris Benoit into the Hall of Fame. There would be too much backlash if they did. You would have womans groups and domestic violence groups protesting outside the arena where the hall was being held that year. People would be like "how can you honor a man who killed his wife and his mentally handicapped child?" It would had been one thing if he had just offed himself, but he took out his entire family.
Its a damn shame that what was once a great legacy now has been forever destroyed by his actions over a week ago. No longer will people be able to hold Benoit upon a pedistal and go behold a man of class. Now when people see images of Benoit, thoughts of a man who strangled his wife and suffocated his mentally handicap child will come to mind.
The actions of Benoit have soured me somewhat on professional wrestling at the moment. I have a match that I have to finish over at FHT/Elite, and I haven't had the desire to even start it. I haven't even gone over to Lords of Pain cause the last time I went over there, all the news they had was about Benoit. I can't even escape talk about it on tv. It doesn't matter which news station I go to, CNN, MSNBC,FOX, hell even my local newstations are talking about it. Ironically the one place I can go and not see news of Benoit is WWE.com. Once again Professional Wrestling is in the public eye and once again its cause of something negative and not for anything positive.
And I too have the Chris Benoit dvd. But I have no desire to pull it out and watch any of it. At this moment Benoit the pro wrestler and Benoit the man are the same. In time I will be able to seperate the two, but for now the dvd sits in a box somewhere collecting dust, and there it will stay.

Man, this is so hard to believe. But hey, it happens....a lot more than any of us care to realize.
Unlike some people here I'm not gonna tirade or berate on Chris Benoit, as the whole slew of events that occurred is sad and disturbing. This may be the only time I ever feel sympathy over a killer, but I can't help but wonder how much of those articles are actual fact and how much of it is sensationlized opinion.
Growing up, Benoit was one of the greatest, an embodiment of a wrestling school, I'm sure there were lots of kids growing up wanting to be like him, emulating him, getting into the business just to hope that they can face him. He was a role model and probably one of the most highly touted and influential wrestlers in history, and, in that sense, the wrestling world lost a prominent superstar.
And, due to circumstance, we can't look at him the same way we might look at say, Ted Williams or Hank Aaron, we have to look at him in the same root as Rae Carruth. A prominent athlete on his way to stardom who, in the span of a few days, turned from family man to worst nightmare and went from prominent to condemned. And it is unfortunate.
Benoit's place in history, while the achievements are concrete and his place in the wrestling world virtually solidified, has been sullied beyond repair. The highlight next to his name won't be 'Former World Champion' or 'Arguably the Greatest Technical of Modern Times' it will be 'WWE Star Kills Family and Hangs Self' or 'From Superstar to Killer: The Downfall of Chris Benoit'.
Sad. Sad for everyone involved.

I really fucking hate how some people on message boards try to stop some discussions just because they find it upsetting. This, and the possible ramifications are the biggest thing to happen to American pro wrestling in some time, it’s absurd not to discuss it. Just how can you give someone the luxury of remembering them as a great wrestler, a nice bloke, a hero to remembered for all time because of his wrestling abilities? I have no doubt that he murdered his family. The real reason is between him and Satan now as I hope that God has washed his hands of the murdering bastard. I have 4 children, my next to youngest is 7, the same age as his son. I couldnt EVER imagine hurting my children, let alone putting them in some FUCKING WRESTLING MOVE TO CHOKE THE LIFE OUT OF THEM That poor boy will never know what it's like to grow up, spend his first holiday with his mates, have a car, get drunk, get laid..... Think back to when you were 7....and from how you write I assume thats not too long ago..can you imagine anyone, especially the one you trusted most, hurt you? Because if what the reports say are true, it couldnt have been quick and easy Mentally ill, or not, murder is murder...you cant blame it on steroids, it was meditated. It will never be forgiven. He was able to treat his son with the love a father should for 7 years, so you cant blame it on mental illness either. Think long and hard..maybe you have a niece, nephew, brother, sister...imagine how you would feel... To be loved is to be remembered when you pass on...this BASTARD should not be remembered and should be wiped from WWE history...WELL DONE VINCE for starting that process I stand by my original statement. ADMIN, close this, remove it from the forum completely.

I belive they should still honour Beniot in the H.O.F as that is recognized on wrestling ability nothing more. Now I am not a parent but I can think of nothing that would make me want to hurt any child let alone anyone my own Cactus, I love ya loads kid and when you are a dad..which will damn happen..(I need to be another 'Aunti Don' to someone else's child)....you will perhaps realise just how sad this story is. Benoit is the 'celebrity' in all this. Think of his son. Just imagine how gutted you would feel if it was Nieve, she's the same age as him. He doesnt deserve to be remembered. I hope he rots in hell and feels the same pain forever as his wife and son did

Ive had my rant Scream, I understand that you cant ever lock someones point of view and to be honest I wouldnt want to.
Thoughts are very powerful, but I feel on this thread they are wasted on the wrong person.
I think its worse for me being a mum of a mentally disabled son AND a 7 year old daughter. I remembered when my son was 7 and how hard it was, but NEVER would I have even contemplated hurting him. He is my man. Always has been, always will be.
Relationships can always end, but I will always have my little man (just ask UKG!) As for hurting a 7 year old, how can anyone hurt someone so trusting and niaive? It beggers belief
Keep it open, but I hope what I have said will make the 'Benoit Lovers' think a little. He doesnt deserve rememberence, he deserves to be forgotten

Yeah I agree, as I have posted above. I am more pissed off, because I have children myself. My eldest is my son who is mentally disabled and I also have a 7 year old. My son is 11 now so I have been there before anyone says owt!!!
Its closer to home for me than most/all on this board

Trust me, when all of my children have been hard work I have had to go out for a break, a drive, put them in bed, stand in the garden....hell, when all of them have started having a go in the car, I scream louder than them and ask them 'is that the best you can do? that scream is rubbish, come on, lets hear it louder!!' It works...trust me
Why didnt Benoit do that? If his son was the cause of his problem, why not go away from it? His house was big enough
If his wife was the problem, why not get a fucking good lawyer (and he could afford it) to get a divorce, which allowed him to have his son too.
Why not get the help he needed? If you are sliding down a depression you know how you feel, you either sort it or get help
He could afford all of these things
That is why he doesnt get an ounce of my sympathy

The reason, besides the obvious shock factor, that this issue is being discussed as it is, is because this is a wrestling forum and this horrible, horrible set of events is quite possible the biggest thing to ever happen in the wrestling world in our lifetimes. This act has in someway affected every person here. Be it, you give you kids a slightly tighter hug each night, or question yourself for putting people on pedastals or whatever. This has shocked everyone who comes on this board. We could brush it under the carpet and erase Benoit's life and actions (good and evil) from existence but what good would that do? Does anyone learn from it by pretending it isn't there? No they don't. Depending on the person, a big part or small part of every wrestling fan died when the terrible truth came out. I don't think I will be able to enjoy wrestling in the same way again. Chris Benoit recently said that he had taken MVP under his wing so he could give something back to the industry. Fast forward 2 months later, he may have just sounded it's death knell in a lot of people's eyes, and his shadow will loom over anything that comes from the industry in the forseeable future. And if it's ignored or not talked about, it won't ever go away.
