It should be badass. I counted three villians in the Sandman, Venom, and the "Evil Alien" Spider-man. Plus, without giving too much away, Peter Parker got a new love life. This will definitely not be the last installment for the franchise. I can't wait.

I thought the black spider-man was the original spider-man. Considering liquid tries to come onto him early in the trailer, and then later, the black spiderman he see's is his reflection, that's what I took it as.
But, you're right, 3 villains, cause there was a quick shot of The new Green Goblin (harry) on the hovercraft.
looks to be a great film.

I know in the first comic book he was red and blue, and I think in the actual book the Black and white Spider Man was a different person...
But I wouldn't trust me too much, I have so many meaningless thought running in and out of my head. Anywasy, Yea- Movie looks great. I've been looking forward to the Green Goblin battle since the end of the first

If you follow the animated series, the black space goo first lands on Spiderman, tries to fuse with him, which Peter doesn't mind because it increases his abilities, but then gets rid of it when he finds out that it's making him evil, and trying to take over his brain like somekinda body snatcher. Somehow, the goo finds it's way to Eddie Brock, and they become Venom, the single most badass villain in all of Spider-man.

or what really happened, spider man went to space to help the shi-ar and the symbiote formed with him, he was not too bothered at first then as it tried to consume him he enlisted reed richards and his sonic gun to help hid get rid.
Meanwhile eddie brock was fired from the bugle for making shit up and as peters photo's helped this he got pissed.
The symbiote looking for a new host feeds of brocks anger for parker ( who the symbiote also hates ) and they bond in hatred and that allows eddie to see that Spider man is peter parker so eddie vows revenge and venom is born.
Thats the "proper" comic version"
and before mick can say it, yeah i am a comic nerd

Regardless, I think the Sandman is just a "action" guy in the movie. I think he's just there to be the guy Spiderman is trying to save the city from, while the main focal point will be The goo trying to overtake him and Eddie, and Harry starting to use The Goblin's accessories, and Mary Joe and Peter's problems and new love interests.
Seems like this will be a very plot-based movie.
I think Spiderman 4 will begin with Harry and the soon-to-be Venom aligning with one another, and this movie will serve as a build-up.

I know in the first comic book he was red and blue, and I think in the actual book the Black and white Spider Man was a different person... That's the way I thought it went, but I could be wrong. Kind of like Superman and Bizarro; they were once on in the same, but somehow two entities became of the situation. In any event, hopefully this flick doesn't follow the comic(s) or the animated series exactly the way they went. Hopefully there is some creativity. And the Sandman is not the greatest threat to Spidey. He's an escaped convict who has a bad accident on a beach and somehow is blessed with sand "powers." The real threat in this film should be Eddie B.

1)The comics that Cactus is speaking of is Secret Wars. They did a mini-series where alot of the marvel superheros went to the Shi-ar empire and helped them out. Then went it was over Spidey came home with the black costume.
2)I don't' think Venom will have that big of a part in this movie. It be like Darth Vader in Episode 3. They only had the masked Vader on screen for like the last 5 minutes. I think Spiderman will have the symboite on for the majority of the picture. Then at the end he realizes that it is trying to take over him. Either it makes him try to kill the sandman or Harry. He runs off to the bell tower and then with the help of the bells chiming the symobite retreats. Brock is at the bottom of the tower and the symboite falls onto him. Movie ends with the scene that E2 has up. Total time Venom is on screen: 5 minutes. Thus setting up for Spiderman 4 with Venom

I thought so. Unless this flick is going to be 3 and a half hours long, it would be way too cluttered. If Green Goblin is in this as Stare mentioned earlier, there will be too much going on at once. Parker's got a new girl chasing him, but from what I understand, Kirstin Dunst is still his bitch. So yeah, hopefully it is like Vader in Episode III where maybe they build this Eddie Brock character and then he finally morphs near the end of the movie, but it's a mere setup for Spidey 4. Episodes I and II were two years apart and this one took three. Maybe the producers new they were shooting for a 2008/9 release for Episode IV and did want to burn the fans out. In any event, I can't wait. EDIT: Darth Spidey.

Nice Find, E2. Seriosuly, where'd you get that? I can't find it anywhere.
I think Keith nailed it on the head, that's how I kind've imagined it happening. Tease the biggest Spiderman villain and hype the 4th movie. Too bad we'll be a couple of years at the least before being able to see it.

the new bitch is gewn stacy who not to spoil things in the comics anyway is killed by the green goblin ( but in the comics its norman osbourne ) Actually, she was killed by Spider-Man. KER-RACK. Holy shit, it feels good when people seem to be spouting random shiz and you understand ALL of it. And Cactus has the origin of Venom correct. What E2 is thinking of is that Peter goes mildly skitzo while wearing the suit. And Ninny has the cartoon version right. The diseases are all medals of honor, the unkempt hair is my manifesto, and the fact that my current job has me shoving my fingers up dogs behinds and cleaning their sacks is a moot point because I get an awful lot of money for it. But knowing everything about comics (Marvel, anyways) and liking wrestling are the only things I'm embarassed about. If I wasn't so beautiful, I'd be such a huge duckling dork.

I really hope the next Spider-Man movie is actually Venom. In my opinion, Venom, like most villains, is a more interesting character.

Also depends because during the ill fated run where we get to see that peter parker is not spiderman but Ben Rielly is ( he is the scarlet spider) and peter parker is a clone of him, we also get to see that Miles "The Jackel" Warren has the orginal Gwen Stacey and that it was a clone killed on the bridge. I know that means nothing in this thread and probably only Spackle will get it, but i had to do it, and yes Mick ( or anyone else who says it ) I am a comic nerd!
